Sydney Sixers have resigned England batsman James Vince for the forthcoming 9th edition of the Australian domestic Big Bash League (BBL). The 28-year-old Hampshire skipper played the second half of the eighth edition of BBL last summer as a replacement for compatriot Joe Denly and ever since he was exceptionally well for the franchise and impressed everyone there. Vince has represented The Three Lions in all formats of the game, he was part of England’s World Cup-winning squad, playing his last ODI fixture against Australia at Lord’s in July. The 9th edition of BBL will commence from December 17 and Sixers will begin their campaign against Perth Scorchers on December 18.

Ravi Shastri has been re-named as the head coach of the Indian cricket team on Friday. The 57-year-old was picked over Mike Hesson and Tom Moody to continue at the helm until the T20 World Cup in 2021. Shastri said, it is a "privilege and an honour" to be a part of the national team setup. It will be the third stint for the Mumbai born coach with the Indian team as he served as the two time World champions during the 2015 World Cup and after the conclusion of 2017 Champions Trophy. During Shastri's tenure, team India became the number one ranked team in the ICC Test rankings and performed excellently in the 2019 World Cup. Former New Zealand captain Daniel Vettori and former South African seamer Charl Langeveldt had been appointed team's full-time bowling consultants, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) have announced on Saturday. The former left-arm spinner Vettori's contract is valid until next year's Twenty20 World Cup in Australia and he will be available to the team for around 100 days during their preparation. The 40-year-old has held several high-profile head coaching roles in T20 format, including Indian Premier League side Royal Challengers Bangalore and Big Bash League's side Brisbane Heat. On the other hand, Langeveldt will join as team's full-time pace bowling coach.

Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to expand from eight teams to 10. The increase in the number of teams will not be a first time as 10 sides already competed in 2011 with the addition of the Kochi and Pune franchises. "We discussed increasing the number of teams but it was an informal discussion. Anyway, the teams don't have the authority to decide on the matter, the BCCI will have to take a call but we are open to the idea," a team official, who attended the meeting in London, told PTI. "There was a discussion but it was done at an informal level. There is no concrete plan as of now on how to go about it. More teams will lead to more games which could mean a bigger scheduling window. Pakistan Cricket Board are hopeful of hosting The Pakistan Super League (PSL), their domestic T20 tournament to Pakistan this year. International teams refused to tour Pakistan after Sri Lanka was targeted by terrorists in 2011. However, West Indies and Zimbabwe went for short series in the United Arab Emirates as Pakistan's home ground. On Friday, PCB have made an announcement that they wanted to host all games of their domestic T20 tournament in the country. PCB chairperson Ehsan Mani expressed hope that teams like Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will tour Pakistan this year as the inauguration of the ICC Test Championship. According to Geo.TV , Heads of Cricket Australia and England and Wales Cricket Board will be traveling Pakistan this year. Pakistan to host the Asia Cup 2020 although it could be held in the UAE, since India would not want to visit to Pakistan.

Former England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar expressed his desire to return to cricket having been cured of the “paranoia/schizophrenia” which sidelined him over the past few years. Panesar, 37, who was an England regular at his peak taking 167 wickets in 50 Tests — told The Daily Mail he can earn a return to first-class cricket despite being without a club since 2016. South African left-handed batsman JP Duminy has decided to retire from first-class and List A cricket. The all-rounder represented the Cobras in South Africa’s domestic cricket league and the news was confirmed by the team head-coach, Ashwell Prince on Friday.  In his List A career, Duminy has scored 7,408 runs with an average of 38.78. Whereas in T20 cricket he scored 6,106 runs in 252 matches, which makes him the highest run-scorer for the Proteas of the game. Duminy, however, will continue to ply his trade in the shortest format of the game across the globe. The 35-year-old has represented the Proteas in 46 Tests, 194 ODIs and 81 T20Is. New Zealand all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn will join Indian Premier League outfit Chennai Super Kings, replacing injured South African seamer Lungi Ngidi, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Kuggeleijn, 27, made his T20 debut for Black Caps this year, having first played One-Day International two years ago. The controversial kiwi has faced two trials over charges of raping a woman in 2015. But his selection in the national team this year was highly shocking as a result, and he faced a hostile welcome from fans and commentators. Kuggeleijn is expected to join the defending champions next week. Super Kings are currently 2nd in the league table, behind Kolkata Knight Riders.
