Australia: Watson ruled out of Zimbabwe tour with ankle injury

Australia’s all-rounder Shane Watson has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to an ankle injury, Cricket Australia said on Saturday. Watson picked up the injury after stepping on a ball during training session on Saturday. The 33-year-old will be replaced by top-order batsman Phillip Hughes in the 14-man squad. Injury-prone Watson confirmed on Twitter. Disappointed to roll my ankle at training today and now miss the Zimbabwe tour. Luke Wright ruled out of World T20, Craig Kieswetter joins squad

England and Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has been ruled out of the ongoing World Twenty20 tournament due to a side strain, ICC Cricket announced. Joe Root to miss T20 World Cup

England batsman Joe Root has been sidelined of World T20 with a fractured thumb injury, reports ESPN . The 23-year-old right-handed batsman picked up the injury during the final ODI win over the West Indies in Antigua last Wednesday. England to play their first Twenty20 World Cup match against New Zealand on March 22 at Chittagong.

India - Irfan Pathan sidelined for six weeks

India's medium-pacer Irfan Pathan has been ruled out for almost six weeks with a rib injury. Irfan had been a part of India A squad for the ongoing ODI series against West Indies A. Ashes 2013 - Pattinson ruled out

James Pattinson , Australia's Right arm fast medium bowler has been ruled out of the remainder of the Ashes series due to a stress fracture in his lower back, Cricket Australia confirmed. The 23-year-old, Pattinson was diagnosed with the lower back problem "hip and back soreness" after the defeat in the second Test at Lord's. "J ames Pattinson reported some hip and back soreness on the final day of the second Ashes Test, " said Team doctor Peter Brukner said. "We had some scans done today (Monday) in London that have identified an early stage low back stress fracture. "Unfortunately he will not take any further part in this Test series and will commence a rehabilitation program with the aim to have him back for the Australian summer." Umar Gul to miss Champions Trophy

Pakistan fast bowler Umar Gul , has been ruled out for the Champions Trophy due to an injury on his right knee. He sustained the injury during last month just after the Centurion ODI against South Africa and since then he has been sidelined. He will board to Melbourne in May for surgery. " Gul complained of right knee pain during the recently concluded one-day series against South Africa ," a PCB spokesman confirmed. "He was rested for the last two one-dayers for imminent damage to his medial meniscus and bone of the right knee. A later MRI scan confirmed a full thickness tear of the posterior horn of medial meniscus with patchy bone bruising on his right knee."

Mitchell Johnson comments over his Test career

Australian fast bowler Mitchell Johnson struggling with his big toe of left foot injury believes that still five to six years of cricket is left in him and he wants to be a part of IPL to regain his place in Test cricket. Daniel Vettori out for up to a month
