Punjab Kings step up to acquire Ricky Ponting for IPL 2025

Ricky Ponting is reportedly close to signing a deal with Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2025, as per Cricbuzz. Having recently parted ways with Delhi Capitals, where he served as head coach for seven seasons, Ponting is expected to bring a wealth of experience and tactical expertise to Punjab. During his tenure with Delhi, Ponting guided the franchise to three consecutive playoff appearances from 2019 to 2021, including their first-ever IPL final in 2020.  However, recent struggles led to his departure earlier this year. Punjab Kings, eager to revamp their team after several lacklustre seasons, are eyeing Ponting as the potential game-changer they need. Punjab Kings, who are yet to claim an IPL title since their debut in 2008, last came close in 2014 as runners-up. Ponting - I will retire from cricket soon

The former Australia captain Ricky Ponting will retire from all forms of cricket in October. The 38-year-old is currently playing in county cricket for Surrey . " While I'm enjoying my cricket as much as ever, it just feels like the right time to finish playing ," Ponting told the Daily Mail. " My body and mind are in great shape and I know I'm going to really enjoy these last few months before the next stage of life begins. " "I'm excited about what lies ahead. We are moving to Melbourne, which will be like a new beginning as a family leading a more normal life. I'll be able to spend more time with family and friends, play a lot more golf and see more of North Melbourne footy games. "Rianna and I will continue to build the work of the Ponting Foundation and, with more time on my hands, I'm intending on spending more time with children with cancer and their families."

Ponting to join Caribbean Premier League (CPL)

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting will become the first international player to be participate in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The CPL will begin on July 29 to August 26. Six franchise countries will be involved in CPL: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago. Ponting said,  " The West Indies has always been one of my favourite cricket destinations, The mix of entertainment and cricket is the perfect recipe for West Indian cricket fans, as well as the rest of the world. The format and concept is fantastic, and I am sure it will be a huge success right from the start."

Ponting fined $250

Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting has been fined $250 for throwing his bat while playing a domestic match for Tasmania against Western Australia in Perth. Ponting threw his bat after he was run out for 95 on the way back to the pavilion.

Ricky Ponting will not quit Test cricket yet

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting has no intention of ending his Test career and he is looking forward to taking on South Africa later in this year. Ponting stated that his “ love for the game and passion and desire to play and be successful hasn't changed. I've still got a few things I want to achieve and a few games of cricket I want to be a part of and win for Australia. As long as I feel I can play a role winning games of cricket for Australia I'll continue to do it. I'm enjoying it as much as ever and probably working harder than ever on my game. ”

Ricky Ponting denies to county cricket

Former Australia captain Ricky Ponting rejected to play county cricket as he bids to play Ashes series in England in 2013. Ponting's manager James Henderson refused the reports from his Twitter account to linked with Somerset . Henderson said " Ricky is not turning his back on playing county cricket in the future but the 2012 season does not line up with his current priorities. " " He will not be playing cricket from after the West Indies tour through until the start of the Sheffield Shield season. He will use the down time to spend more time with his family and refresh after a hectic past nine months. "

Australia Test team squad for West Indies

Michael Clarke awarded third Allan Border Medal

Michael Clarke , Australian captain won third Allan Border Medal as the cricketer of the year at in awards ceremony on Monday. Clarke made 1,167 runs with an average of 68.65 in 11 Tests and Ponting made 837 runs with an average of 52.31 in 10 Tests. They both polled with nine votes, However Clarke was awarded the title because of major votes.

Australian batsman Ricky Ponting face is used without his permission in a mobile phone application by an Indian software company AHI Infotech . For this Ricky Ponting is mulling to sue AHI Infotech an Indian software company. According to the report, Former Australian captain Ricky Ponting was not aware of the fact that 99c iPhone app " Face Guess Cricket " was using his image. His manager James Henderson said to Herald Sun . " We weren't aware of it and we'll be issuing action against them straight away for the use of his intellectual property. "

Sri Lankan Experienced batsman Mahela Jayawardene became first batsman of his team and ninth batsman in the world to score 10,000 runs in Test Cricket history. 34-year-old batsman, Jayawardene achieved 10,000 runs milestone on the first day of the second Test against South Africa in Durban on Monday. Australian test squad against New Zealand

Australia's aggressive opener David Warner has been selected in the test team for series against New Zealand. Warner replaces all-rounder ShaneWatson .
