Kirsten named Delhi Daredevils coach

Former Coach of Indian cricket team, Gary Kirsten has signed Delhi Daredevils as a head coach. IPL franchise tweeted, "The #DelhiDaredevils is delighted to welcome @Gary_Kirsten as Head Coach. He will work with Team Mentor TA Sekar and Eric Simons, @Gary_Kirsten says the decision to join #delhidaredevils was an easy one. It will be his first experience with an @IPL team." In 11-year of his career, He played 101 Tests and took retirement in 2004. In December 2007, he was named India coach.

Richards first stint with an IPL

The former West Indies captain Viv Richards has joined the Delhi Daredevils as the team's ambassador. He will also play an "advisory role" with the IPL franchise. " I am looking forward to working with the Delhi Daredevils this season, " Richards said.  " I know the team has many players of proven quality and others who have immense talent and hunger to succeed at this level and higher. It will be a great experience for me to be their sounding board and inspire them to deliver quality performances ."

Ben Rohrer in for Delhi Daredevils

The NSW captain and left-hand batsman Ben Rohrer from Australia signs Delhi Daredevils for this IPL season . He will replace Indian seamer Varun Aaron, The Daredevils' spokesperson confirmed. The 32-year-old Rohrer performed outstanding performance for the Melbourne Renegades in the 2012-13 Big Bash League . In his first-class career for NSW, He scored 1901 runs at 39.60 in 34 matches.

Jeremy Snape performance coach for Delhi Daredevils

Former England allrounder Jeremy Snape has been named as a performance coach for Delhi Daredevils in the upcoming season of IPL. " We are happy to welcome Jeremy as Performance Coach, " GMR Sports' Head (Cricket) TA Sekar said. " We believe he has the right credentials to help the Delhi Daredevils achieve its goals. We are sure he will bring in fresh ideas and help the coaching staff bring the best out of the players in a high performance environment. " Snape, 39, said: " We are sure that Snape will enable the players be on the edge of their comfort zones as they deliver high performance through the coming season. "

Mushtaq Ahmed eyes on Delhi Daredevils

The former Pakistan legspinner, Mushtaq Ahmed is ready to join Delhi Daredevils for the 2013 IPL season, as a spin-bowling consultant. Recently Mushtaq has signed the year-long contract with the Delhi Daredevils and is now waiting for the final paperwork. " I have been offered a one-year deal, " Mushtaq said "I have accepted it but the deal is yet to be finalised and is in process as written documentation is currently being exchanged. "

Virender Sehwag may miss CL T20

Delhi Daredevils veteran batsman Virender Sehwag may not be able to play in the upcoming Champions League Twenty20 due to his ligament injury that he sustained during the last match against South Africa in the ICC World Twenty20 . According to the Indian team's media manager Dr R N Baba , Sehwag has been advised rest for 14 days. CLT20 to be held in South Africa from October 9. UPDATE NEWS October 11, 2012 Virender Sehwag has been recovered from his minor ankle injury and ready to play in Champions League 2012 match for Delhi Daredevils against Kolkata Knight Riders, on Saturday.

Gautam Gambhir fined USD 20,000

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir has been fined in IPL Tournament for slow over rate during the match against Delhi Daredevils in Delhi. Gambhir said, " I think aggressive cricket is very important. More so, we have such aggressive batsmen. It is  the responsibility of batsmen like me, Brendon McCullum  or Yusuf  Pathan to bat aggressively and do the scoring.  It is our natural style. ”

James Hopes ruled out from IPL due to Injury

Pune Warriors all-rounder James Hopes has been ruled out from the Indian Premier League (IPL5) due to a knee injury. Last year Hopes played for Delhi Daredevils .

Ross Taylor joins Delhi Daredevils

Delhi Daredevils signs New Zealand's captain Ross Taylor in the transfer window from Rajasthan Royals . The amount of transfer was not disclosed yet.

Andrew McDonald will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore

Australian all-rounder Andrew McDonald will now play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming season of IPL. During the IPL trading window Andrew has moved from Delhi Daredevils to RCB. The BCCI said in a statement, Australia's ALLROUNDER Andrew McDonald now went into the Royal Challengers Bangalore. McDonald is the member of the Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League .

Kevin Pietersen join Delhi Daredevils

Kevin Pietersen has been moved to Delhi Daredevils from Deccan Chargers in the upcoming season of 2012 IPL . In 2009, Pietersen was being a part of and captained Royal Challengers Bangalore for a few games. Pietersen, said: " I am looking forward to a wonderful time with the Delhi Daredevils," Pietersen said. "It will be a great experience to be playing in the same squad as Sehwag ."

Sehwag out of IPL

Explosive opener and Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag now not able to play match in IPL4 due to shoulder injury. His shoulder was hurt in the recent past for which now he has to undergo with surgery. Daredevils, owned a company director of GMR PB Vanchi said, " if Sehwag play match,its no longer have to wonder. In the last match he had struggled enough. " He said Indian cricket board (BCCI) is managing Sehwag's surgery. It is going to set the date. If surgery is necessary then Daredevils will not on the way of the Virender Sehwag .

Sehwag's Best Innings In IPL T20

The explosive century against Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag said that this is one of his best innings in Twenty20 cricket. Sehwag's explosive innings of 119 runs in just 56 balls against the Chargers makes him  Man of the Match. He also hit 13 boundaries and five sixes in the innings. Sehwag said " I did not made century ever in Twenty20.The first six overs were not in our favor. Our three wickets fell at 29 runs in just 6 overs. Since they did not have a fifth bowler, I thought that if I do attack their fourth and fifth bowlers so we could achieve this goal. " He said " last year Deccan Chargers have won five consecutive matches. Therefore, we hope that this time Delhi Daredevils will do better."
