England all-rounder Ben Stokes has decided to hang up his boots from ODI cricket. The 31-year-old will bid farewell to the 50-over format after the opening match of the ODI leg against South Africa on Tuesday at his home ground – the Riverside. It will be Stokes’ 105th game for the country in the 50-over format. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the 13-member England squad for the first two Tests against New Zealand, starting on June 02 at Lords in London. Under the leadership of Ben Stokes (captain), England has recalled James Anderson and Stuart Broad to the red-ball outfit.  Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Mark Wood and Saqib Mahmood have not been included due to their respective injuries. In what could be a huge blow for England in their pursuit of T20 World Cup trophy, all-rounder Ben Stokes might miss the upcoming edition of the T20 World Cup in the UAE after the 30-year-old took an indefinite break from international cricket to take care of his mental well-being. He was set to take part in the Indian Premier League this year, representing Rajasthan Royals, but the talismanic all-rounder pulled out earlier. Stokes is also not a part of the ongoing five-match Test series against India. The T20 World Cup is slated to begin on October 17th few days after the conclusion of the IPL and Stokes’ availability in the tournament is still under the clouds.

England all-rounder Ben Stokes is set to feature in the Indian Premier League after Rajasthan Royals indicated the Englishman is on his way to the UAE from New Zealand. The 29-year-old posted a picture with his family on Instagram with a caption, "goodbyes never get easier". According to the IPL rules, Stokes will have to undergo a six-day quarantine after his arrival to the UAE. He is likely to be available for the match against Delhi Capitals in Dubai on 14 October.

The 26-year-old, who is set to return to competitive cricket, has been cleared to play for Canterbury on Sunday.
