Pakistan Cricket Board said Dav Whatmore , former World Cup winning Sri Lanka coach has been finalise his appointment as head coach of Pakistan team. Pakistan team was without a full time coach since when Waqar Younis left the position of coach in September. Subhan Ahmed , PCB chief operating officer said to local media " We are in the process of finalising the appointment and in this regard are in discussions with Whatmore ". Whatmore will reach Pakistan in second week of January , he added. Mohsin Khan has been retained for next month series against England in the UAE as an interim coach .

Karachi, Monday, 7 November 2011 Former Pakistan's coach Waqar Younis has advised Shahid Afridi to keep his mouth shut and focus on Cricket. Waqar said in an interview to Geo News in Dubai " Afridi needs to rethink his priorities as a senior player. " Waqar said all the time he keeps criticizing and makes use of vulgar language. He just need to kept his mouth shut and concentrate on cricket. He said " To me it seems as if he always on the lookout for cheap publicity by making unwarranted and unhealthy comments about somebody or someone. "

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from cricket since five months ago and now he said that he was ready to return in the Pakistan team. Afridi told reporters in Karachi, "I decided that I would like to play for Pakistan, I have never been ever retired from Cricket, but I said I don't want to play in the previous administration of PCB and now there is a new Chairman, so I decided to play again." Afridi announced his retirement to cricket in may, when ODI team captaincy was taken away from him at the time of Coach Waqar Younis .

Geo News reported that Waqar Younis the coach of Pakistan cricket team said that senior and junior players will get chance in upcoming tours. Waqar Younis said that he will request to the senior players like Wasim Akram and Javed Miandad to give tips to young players. Younis was hopeful that the team will give best performance in the coming Tours. He refused to comment in the case hearing of Salman Butt, Mohammad Asif and Mohammad Amir Younis returned pakistan after a private trip from Australia and was talking to the media at Lahore airport.
