Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL T20) on Youtube

The Sri Lanka Premier League ( SPL ) will be broadcast via Youtube to a global audience, president Upali Dharmadasa confirmed. All 24 matches to be broadcast on an official SLPL channel. Dharmadasa said, " It was an idea that was brought to us, and we approved it because it gives the tournament the benefit of reaching more cricket fans around the world. " The SLPL will start from August 11.

100 Sri Lankan cricketers not paid yet

Colombo, Thursday, October 27, 2011 Nearly 100 Sri Lankan cricketers have not been paid since the World Cup 2011 in April due to the huge debt that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board is facing. There are reports that the Sri Lanka Cricket Board may not be in a position to pay the players over the next couple of months. Sri Lanka cricket Chief Upali Dharmadasa said in a media report, " There is a truth in those media reports to a certain extent Sri Lanka Cricket is still awaiting payment from the ICC for co-hosting the World Cup 2011. The ICC still owes us $4-5 million ."

Coach of Sri Lanka is Rumesh Ratnayake

Colombo, Friday, 15 July 2011 Former fast bowler Rumesh Ratnayake has been appointed to the new coach of Sri Lanka cricket team for the series against Australia starting from 6th August. Sri Lanka cricket chief Upali Dharmadasa said that, For Sri Lanka 23 Tests played between the 1983 and 1992, Rumesh Ratnayake will replace Australia's Stuart Law . Law was the team's assistant coach. Dharmadasa said Ratnayake is limited to the appointment in the series against Australia of three Tests, five ODIs and a Twenty20 international match is included. Former left-arm seamer Ratnayake took 73 Test wickets and 76 wickets in 70 ODIs
