Sachin Tendulkar best Test player of 21st century

India’s legendary batsman Sachin Tendulkar has been named the best Test cricketer of the 21st century by by Cricket Australia's website. An online poll conducted by CA website, in which the 42-year-old bagged the highest number of votes to become on top of the list of the 100 best Test players since 2000. Sri Lanka's Wicket-keeper batsman Kumar Sangakkara received the second highest votes, followed by Australian legend Adam Gilchrist in the third position. Tendulkar earned 23% of votes, while Sangakkara got 14% votes. The former India skipper, Tendulkar, is the only Indian player to be listed in the top-10 list, while there are four Aussie, three South African and two Sri Lankan cricketers. Sachin Tendulkar brought the curtains down on Test career. The phenomenal 24-years of career by giving a heart-warming speech to everyone. Tendulkar retires from IPL

Mumbai Indians batsman Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from IPL cricket after winning their first IPL title. He played his last IPL in a league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad . " This is my last IPL, " Tendulkar announced casually during an interview with Harsha Bhogle on the ground after the win. " This has been a fantastic season. I thought our third IPL season was the best before this. "I think this is the right time to stop playing the IPL. I am 40. Got to accept it. I had decided this was my last season. " In his 78 matches of IPL career, Tendulkar scored 2334 runs that includes one century and 13 half-centuries. 

Virat Kohli - I started playing cricket because of Sachin

India's most promising batsman Virat Kohli stated " Sachin Tendulkar is the reason I started playing. " Virat said " He is the reason why I have started playing cricket. Like me I think most of the youngsters in the India started playing cricket because of him. " " Now it is just a great honour to share the same dressing room with him. I remember when I was small, my only dream was to see him in real life and to play with him now is just a great honour for me. I couldn't have asked for anything more, " he added.

India to play Twenty-20 match in South Africa

India will play one-off Twenty20 International match against South Africa on March 30 in Johannesburg to celebrate 150 years of Indian settlement. Sachin Tendulkar is unlikely to be part of the T20 squad and Robin Uthappa is expected to replace sachin.

India squad for Asia Cup 2012 in Bangladesh

Virat Kohli has been appointed as vice-captain for the Asia Cup , Indian selectors reported. Selectors has been given another chance to Sachin Tendulkar to play in Asia Cup despite his poor performance in the ongoing tri-series in Australia. Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan has been rested for the Asia cup starting from March 11 in Bangladesh. Yusuf Pathan and Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda both has been included in the 15-member squad.
