Derbyshire have announced that wicketkeeper-batsman Brooke Guest has signed a two-year contract extension with the club, keeping him at The Incora County Ground until the 2025 season. The 25-year-old was ever-present for Derbyshire during the 2022 season, contributing more than 1,000 runs in all formats, as well as claiming 72 dismissals behind the wickets. Since his debut for Derbyshire in 2020, the right-handed batter has scored 2,177 runs, including five centuries and seven half-centuries. Derbyshire pacer Ben Aitchison has committed his future to the club after signing a new two-year contract that promises to keep him at The IncoraTM County Ground until the 2022 season. Aitchison, 21, initially joined Derbyshire on a rookie contract for the 2020 campaign and established himself on his first-class debut against Nottinghamshire, with 3-55 in the second innings. The youngster said , “When I first joined the club, I talked about wanting to take any opportunities I was given, and I feel like I did well when I was selected this season. “I love the setup here, and get on really well with the lads, so It’s really nice to know I’ll be able to grow and develop with them over the next two seasons.” Aitchison claimed 47 wickets at an average of 12.23 in 17 matches for Macquarie University Cricket Club in Sydney. South African fast-bowler Duanne Olivier has been signed by Derbyshire as an overseas player for the first half of the 2018 season. The 25-year-old, who has played five Tests for the Proteas, will be available for the first seven Specsavers County Championship matches and the entire Derbyshire's Royal London One-Day Cup campaign, subject to clearance from Cricket South Africa. "We identified new-ball bowling as an area we wanted to strengthen, especially for the first half of the season in red- and white-ball cricket. He is a tall, quick bowler who is keen to prove himself and he will give us another quality option with the ball. He comes highly recommended and will offer further depth to our seam attack," Cricket Advisor, Kim Barnett said . Derbyshire have announced the signing of South Africa captain Hashim Amla on a short-term deal. The 31-year-old, who has scored 6757 runs in 82 Tests for South Africa at an average of 52.78 - will play three T20 Blast fixtures and two County Championship matches as a replacement for Martin Guptill, who has been called up for New Zealand’s Test squad for next month's tour of England. South African all-rounder Albie Morkel has signed Derbyshire for Friends Life t20 competition. Albie become the second overseas signing of Derbyshire after Shivnarine Chanderpaul. West Indies Left-handed batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul , has joined English county side Derbyshire on a two-year contract. Currently Chanderpaul rated the world's number two Test batsman. He has scored over 10,500 runs in just 146 Tests at an average of 51.67 and has previously played for Durham, Lancashire and Warwickshire in the English County Championship.
