Glamorgan has secured the services of the talented 24-year-old leg-spinner Peter Hatzoglou on a short-term T20 contract.  Hatzoglou's impressive record of 42 wickets in 40 T20 matches makes him a valuable addition to the team.  Initially, the 24-year-old will be available for three matches, providing cover for fellow Australian player Michael Neser, whose absence in the Blast's opening four games is due to his commitment to the Australian training camp, where he is preparing for the upcoming World Test Championship and the Ashes series. Australian middle-order batsman Peter Handscomb has signed with the English county team Leicestershire for the first two months of their upcoming campaign.  The 31-year-old Victorian batsman has scored 145 runs at an average of 29 during the recent Indian series. The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule and location for the final match of the 2021-23 World Test Championship. India and Australia are considered to be the top contenders to face each other in the championship decider. The Indian all-rounder, who returned to competitive cricket in a Ranji Trophy match, is set to join the Test squad ahead of the first Test against Australia in Nagpur on February 9. Australian opener David Warner has completed 8,000 runs in Test cricket, becoming the eighth Aussie to do so. The 36-year-old accomplished this milestone during the second Test against South Africa at the MCG, which also happens to be his 100th Test. The star batter hit his 25th Test hundred. Before this, the right-hander had hit his previous Test century on January 3, 2020 against New Zealand. New Zealand have announced their 15-member ODI squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia, starting September 6. The right-arm fast-medium bowler Matt Henry has returned to the squad after missing the West Indies tour due to a rib injury.  However, Kyle Jamieson and Adam Milne weren’t considered in the ODI setup due to their respective injuries. The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have named Matthew Mott as England's new white-ball coach. The 48-year-old joins the set-up following his successful stint in charge of the Australian women’s team. Under his tenure, the Australian women team won the ODI World Cup in New Zealand before winning back-to-back T20 World Cups and four consecutive Ashes series. Mott, who has previously coached in the county cricket with Glamorgan, has signed a four-year contract to lead the current 50-over world champions. Mott's first series will be a three-match ODI tour of the Netherlands starting on 17 June. The T20 World Cup 2022 begins in Australia in October while England will fight for their 50-over world cup title in India next year.

Australian allrounder Andrew Symonds passed away in a horrific car accident near the outskirts of the city of Townsville on Saturday night, the North Queensland Police confirmed. The 46-year-old represented Australia in 26 Tests and 198 ODIs from 1998 to 2009. Symonds is the second famous Aussie cricketer to pass away in 2022 following the demise of leg-spinner Shane Warne, who died earlier this year in March. Northamptonshire have signed the Australian batsman Chris Lynn for the T20 Blast this season. The 32-year-old, who has established a reputation as one of the hardest hitters in the T20 format, has never previously played in the county cricket. "I have always wanted to play county cricket and I'm really looking forward to joining up with Northamptonshire for the Vitality Blast," said Lynn. "The UK is a great place to play, and I am hopeful that I can contribute with some good performances and also try to entertain the Steelback fans this summer."
