The Warwickshire batsman Ian Bell has been named England's men Cricketer of the Year 2013-2014 for his outstanding performances in the Ashes series victory over Australia last summer. Bell , 32, became the first briton in 27 years to achieve a landmark of making three consecutive centuries and two fifties during England's 3-0 home Ashes win. “It means a lot (to win the award),” Bell told ecb.co.uk . “Over the years I’ve seen some really good England players win this award and some friends as well so it is nice to finally get up there and win one myself.” England middle-order batsman Ian Bell has scored 6722 runs in 98 Tests at 45.41 avg and scored 4832 runs in 146 ODI's at 37.16 avg. Elsewhere, England women's captain Charlotte Edwards won the women’s cricketer of the year. While England U-19s skipper Will Rhodes (Development Programme cricketer) and Stephen George (disability cricketer of the year) also win awards for excellence.

A wicket-keeper & batsman Matt Prior has been named the England cricketer-of-the-year for 2012/13. " It was fantastic when I found out, a huge honour to be singled out as player of the year, " said Prior, the first wicket-keeper to win the award. " I feel slightly uncomfortable with it, because individual accolades are not really the reason I play. "I want this team to win. I get much more out of the group winning a Test or series," he added ahead of a season where England will defend the Ashes against Australia . "I think it's very easy to look back and think 'that was a great year' and pat yourself on the back," said Prior. "That's certainly not something I'll be doing. "Yes, it was a great year - and I'll take a huge amount of confidence from it. "But you've got to knuckle down and look to improve. "It's back to the drawing board now, and it all starts again."
