Nottinghamshire have announced the signing of South Africa's Dane Paterson for the 2021 season. The 31-year-old seamer, who will be a part of Notts as an overseas player, has featured in four ODIs and eight T20Is for the Proteas. The right-armer has claimed 355 wickets across 103 First-Class fixtures since his debut in 2009. Nottinghamshire had earlier announced that Australia's Dan Christian will lead the T20 side this summer.

Nottinghamshire seamer Jake Ball has signed a new two-year contract with the county, that promises to keep him at Trent Bridge until the end of the 2023 season. The 29-year-old Englishman, who has played four Tests, 18 ODIs and two Twenty20s for England, has spent his entire county career with Notts. He also played seven matches for Sydney Sixers in the recent Big Bash League in Australia. Northamptonshire Cricket County Club have announced the signing of Afghanistan allrounder Mohammad Nabi for the 2021 edition of the T20 Blast. The 35-year-old has impressive numbers under his belt in the shortest format of the game.  The middle-order Afghan has featured in 78 T20 Internationals for his nation, scoring 1347 runs at an average of over 22 and strike rate of 145.3. In addition to that, the allrounder also has 69 scalps to his name. Northants will be Nabi's third county, after previous spells at Leicestershire and Kent in 2018 and 2019 respectively. Nottinghamshire pacer Zak Chappell has extended his contract at the county until the conclusion of 2022 season.  The 24-year-old, who joined the club in the winter of 2018, took 15 scalps in the 2020 Bob Willis Trophy. “Last season was a big one for me – I feel like I found my rhythm and my confidence early on, and everything just snowballed from there,” the seamer  said . “I believe I’m a much better bowler for the work that Pete (Peter Moores) and Shiney (Kevin Shine) did with me over last winter, so I’m really excited to see how I can push forward again over this close-season. Nottinghamshire left-arm seamer Harry Gurney has been out of action in this year’s T20 Vitality Blast with a shoulder injury. The England international, who has become a regular on the T20 circuit in recent years, will go under the knife next month to get the problem rectified. The 33-years-old, who also has an IPL contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders this season, has claimed 115 wickets for the Notts, including 22 in 2019. Nottinghamshire have announced the signing of opening batsman Ben Slater from Derbyshire on a three-year deal promises to keep him at Trent Bridge until 2021. The 26-year-old will be available for Notts on loan for the rest of this season. “I’m looking forward to joining with Nottinghamshire and having the chance to play at Trent Bridge week in week out,” said the Chesterfield-born batsman. Slater has made 3,614 runs, at an average of 31.42, since his first-class debut in 2012.

England skipper Alastair Cook announced that right-arm medium pace bowler Jake Ball will make his Test debut when England meet Pakistan at Lord’s on July 14. Nottinghamshire have secured Australian fast bowler Peter Siddle by signing him as their overseas player for the Championship and one-day campaigns on 2014. As per the schedule, there will be not any Australia Test cricket during the entire English season , so the 20-year-old has been linked for a full season although he will not play T20 cricket. "I've always wanted to spend a season in county cricket and this feels like the right opportunity at a time when Australia have no Test matches scheduled," said Siddle. Durham clinched their third County Championship in six years with an eight-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire on Thursday. The third day's morning session was washed out with the rain but after the lunch when play resumed,the hosts just needed 62 more runs to win the title. Durham captain and the former England batsman Paul Collingwood produced great players in their side. They were also without their coach Geoff Cook after he suffered a heart attack.

New Zealand fast bowler Ian Butler has signed Nottinghamshire for their first Friends Life T20 match against Leicestershire . He will join the county side after the T20I against England at the Oval. " The Notts Outlaws squad looks very strong and I feel well prepared having played two twenty20 internationals this week, " Butler said. " There is a great tradition of New Zealand cricketers doing well with Nottinghamshire and I am really looking forward to playing at Trent Bridge. British-born Asian Ajmal Shahzad signed Nottinghamshire on a three-year contract in the County Championship next season. The 27-years-old Shahzad said, " As a seam bowler there is no better ground to play at than Trent Bridge, Hopefully playing alongside so many England players and performing well for Notts will put me back in the limelight ."

England all-rounder Samit Patel has signed Nottinghamshire on a new three year deal. The 27-year-old patel said, " I think that we have enough talent and depth in our squad to win trophies consistently and I want to play my part in that. "This is the only county that I want to play for. "

The Somerset captain, Marcus Trescothick , will out for a minimum of six or seven weeks from cricket due to the injury he sustained match against Nottinghamshire in the County Championship. Trescothick will undergo surgery of his right ankle. In the absence of Marcus Trescothick, James Hildreth will captain Somerset.

Darren Bravo, A left-handed batsman of the West Indies Cricket Team has joined Nottinghamshire in England. He is expected to play his debut CB40 match on Friday against Glamorgan at Trent Bridge. In his Test Career, Bravo has an average of 39.84 in just eight test matches with six half centuries. In his One-Day International record, he has an average of 33.45 in 28 matches with five fifties.
