Durham skipper Paul Collingwood signs new deal

Durham skipper Paul Collingwood has penned a new contract extension, keeping him at the Chester-le-Street until the end of the 2015 season. Collingwood had recently hinted that the may retire at the end of the current County Championship campaign, but the 38-year-old has decided to carry on as the county's captain by a further 12 months. "You're a long time retired and I've still got ambitions to take this team forward," the former England all-rounder told the county's official website . "It really is a special group of guys to be involved with and I don't want to give that up too early.” Collingwood has scored 13,759 first-class runs for the County champions.

Paul Collingwood: I'm determined to play for Durham

Durham skipper, Paul Collingwood has stated that he wants to play for Durham this season after the possibility of getting an England coaching job on a full-time basis, according to reports from Sky Sports . Collingwood, 37, who is currently working as a temporary assistant with Ashley Giles and assures that it will not abandon his County duties this summer. "I'm determined to play for Durham this summer, " The former England all-rounder told reporters. "Durham are down to the bare bones in terms of personnel, so to lose a captain would be a bit harsh at the last second." There are such rumours, that Collingwood could be seen as a new head coach of England's national team just after the Twenty20 World Cup.

County Championship - Durham wins the title

Durham clinched their third County Championship in six years with an eight-wicket victory over Nottinghamshire on Thursday. The third day's morning session was washed out with the rain but after the lunch when play resumed,the hosts just needed 62 more runs to win the title. Durham captain and the former England batsman Paul Collingwood produced great players in their side. They were also without their coach Geoff Cook after he suffered a heart attack.

Collingwood Signed 3 more years with Durham

Paul Collingwood, Former England T20 Captain has signed a three years contract with Durham . Collingwood was retired from test cricket at the end of the Ashes in Austrralia this year and he had been approach from Derbyshire in July. After returned to Durham he said he was happy to stay at his home club where he played his first-class debut match 15 years ago. Collingwood said: " I'm a Durham lad through and through and I've really enjoyed being back in the dressing room with the guys. The club is ambitious and the quality of the team shows how committed we are to winning more silverware over the coming years and I want to be part of that - bringing more sporting success back to the North East. Paul Collingwood Will Play For Perth Scorchers in Big Bash

Perth, Tuesday, 5 June 2011 England all-rounder Paul Collingwood has joined the Twenty20 Big Bash League. He will play for Perth Scorchers . South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs had signed with franchises before Collingwood. Big Bash tournament will be played from December 30 to February 5.

England's Paul Collingwood and  Matt Prior has been out from the Upcoming one-day and Twenty20 series against Sri Lanka. Since Collingwood retired from Test cricket, after won the Ashes in Australia but he was included in the World Cup 2011 team. After returning from World Cup, Collingwood T-20 captaincy has been stripped and replaced by new captain Stuart Broad . England all-rounder Samit Patel and wicketkeeper Craig Kieswetter has been selected for the team in ODI and T-20 series against Sri Lanka. Kieswetter have been chosen to replace Matt Prior. Fast bowler Brad is likely to be fit to play Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka on Saturday. Brad was hurt during the third Test against Sri lanka.
