Former Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir is ready to make his debut in the latest edition of the Caribbean Premier League, starting from August 28. The 29-year-old announced his retirement from international cricket in December last year, owing to his feud with Pakistan’s team management. The veteran speedster continues to feature in the various T20 leagues across the globe. He will now be available in the Caribbean Premier League as the left-arm pacer has been signed by Barbados Tridents for the ninth edition that kicks off in St Kitts & Nevis in August 2021.  Amir has claimed 59 wickets in 50 T20I for Pakistan.

The Former Test cricketers Shane Watson, Mike Hussey and Brad Haddin are among the 23 Australians in the run for the 2016 Caribbean Premier League Twenty20 player draft next week. Former England all-rounder Kevin Pietersen is all set to take part in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20, takes place in July and August this year, according to reports from BBC . The Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene is set to join the Trinidad & Tobago in the ongoing Caribbean Premier League . The 36-year-old will replace South Africa's Davy Jacobs, who was ruled out following an injury. He will be the second Sri Lanka player to play in the CPL, with Muttiah Muralitharan turning out for the Jamaica Tallawahs. Jawayardene joins Ross Taylor and Kevin O'Brien as one of the franchise's overseas players.

Pakistan skipper, Misbah-ul-Haq has signed the St Lucia Zouks side for the inaugural season of Caribbean Premier League . He will replace Australia's Luke Pomersbach , who has been forced to pull out of the tournament. Matthew Maynard, the Zouks assistant coach, said: " Although it is unfortunate that Luke Pomersbach will not be joining us, we have a high-quality replacement in Misbah-ul-Haq, He brings with him a vast amount of experience of international cricket, something that will only be of benefit to our younger players, and his latest Twenty20 performance speaks for itself. On top of that he has been in excellent form during the recent ODI series against West Indies so he is completely acclimatised and match-ready and that is an added plus for us and for him. Due to contractual obligations with Derbyshire (English county), West Indies middle order batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul will not be able to play in the first ever Caribbean Premier League (CPL). " I am extremely sorry that I will not be able to participate in the CPL because of contractual obligations ," said Chanderpaul. " I would definitely like to make myself available for the next edition, and will have my contracts carry a clause that will permit me to play in future editions of T20 tournaments ." Aussie batsman Luke Pomersbach to replace Chanderpaul and will soon join St Lucia. "I am excited about this new opportunity and really looking forward to playing in the Caribbean for St. Lucia, " Pomersbach said. " It will be great to be a part of this first CPL and I am looking forward to some tough competitive cricket with some of the greatest T20 cricketers in the world. Former Sri Lankan spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan has been confirmed as the sixth international franchise player for Caribbean Premier League (CPL). The 41-year-old, Muralitharan, has a record of taking more international wickets than any other player in history, with 1347 scalps across Test, ODI and Twenty20 International formats. " I am really looking forward to playing in the first ever CPL -- it is going to be a fantastic spectacle for fans and a great experience for all players involved, " Muralitharan said. " I am good friends with a number of the West Indian players, especially Chris Gayle as we play together in IPL, and having the chance to play on a team with guys competing in their home countries will be fantastic for me. The 39-year-old South African batsman Herschelle Gibbs has signed Caribbean Premier League starting from July 29. " I am really looking forward to playing in the first CPL. I love the Caribbean and have great memories of touring there. The people are lovely and although each nation is different, they all have that same warmth and charm that makes everyone want to go there, " said Gibbs. " Many of the West Indies players have become my friends over the years and playing alongside them in their home countries will really be special. " Gibbs joins fellow international stars Ricky Ponting, Adam Gilchrist, Ross Taylor and Mohammad Hafeez as big-name signings for the tournament. West Indies all-rounder Chris Gayle , who created a world records in the Indian Premier League of fastest century in T20 , will stay in his native place Jamaica in Caribbean Premier League , The Twenty20 cricket tournament in the West Indies. The New Zealand batsman, Ross Taylor has signed the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) and became the third foreign player after Ricky Ponting and Adam Gilchrist to sign CPL . The former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist is the second international franchise player, after Ricky Ponting , to play with the newly formed Caribbean Premier League (CPL). Gilchrist said, " The CPL will feature some of the world's best cricketers, and I can't wait to test my skills and play in what is going to be a dynamic and exciting competition, I have fond memories of playing cricket in the Caribbean. Six franchise countries will be involved in CPL: Antigua & Barbuda, Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, St. Lucia and Trinidad & Tobago.
