Kings XI Punjab appoints Brad Hodge as new coach

Former Australian Batsman Bard Hodge has been appointed as the new head coach of the Indian Premier League outfit Kings XI Punjab on a three-year contract. The 42-year-old held a similar role with Gujarat Lions for the last two campaigns and will now report to KXIP's mentor-cum director, Virender Sehwag. "We have signed a three-year agreement with Brad, who will be our head coach," Kings XI Punjab co-owner Ness Wadia was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo. Hodge continues to play for Melbourne Renegades in the forthcoming season of the Big Bash League before joining KXIP as the head coach.

Australian Marcus Stoinis out for remainder of IPL

The Kings XI Punjab all-rounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the rest of the season with a shoulder injury. The Australia international, who has made three ODIs appearances for his country, reportedly injured his shoulder in a practice session before the Punjab franchise's game against Royal Challengers Bangalore on Friday. The 27-year-old, who is a part of Australia's 15-man squad for the ICC Champions Trophy to be played in England in June 2017. He has only a few weeks left to recover form his shoulder injury before he travels to England as part of Champions Trophy squad. Australia to play their first match against New Zealand at Edgbaston on 2nd June. Stoinis picked up only two wickets in five matches for Kings XI in IPL 10.

Twitter reacts as Kings XI Punjab beat Delhi Daredevils

The Kings XI Punjab secured a crucial nine-run win over Delhi Daredevils at their home ground on Saturday night. Marcus Stoinis and Wriddhiman Saha both scored 52 runs for the Punjab as the hosts posted a competitive 181-5. The Kings’ bowlers bowled superbly in the second half and defeat Delhi Daredevils by nine runs in at the PCA stadium in Mohali. With their third win in nine games this season, Punjab kept their hopes alive for the top-four finish in the IPL 2016. Adam Gilchrist retires from IPL

Adam Gilchrist , the captain of Kings XI Punjab has announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after playing his final game against Mumbai Indians at Dharamsala. " This definitely is my last game, " Gilchrist said at the toss. Due to poor form, the left-hander had only 1 half century in this tournament, IPL 6 and he admit poor form and his side's dwindling fortunes in the tournament. However, the 41-year-old Australian, will play in the inaugural edition of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL). During a press conference at Dharamsala, Gilchrist said, : " I am looking like a 22-year-old, you say? " "I am not feeling that way. And for the first 50 runs against Bangalore, I felt like a 52-year-old. But it's great. Last year, I sat here and said I am finished, I probably won't come back, but I came back. An Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh who plays for Kings XI Punjab in IPL is ready to join the squad. He passed a fitness test in Australia on Friday. Marsh had been recovering from an injury he picked while playing for Australia A in February. " I'm feeling fit and healthy so I can't wait to get back to playing cricket again and am really excited about the next five weeks in the IPL, " Marsh said in a media release issued by Perth Scorchers , his team in the Big Bash . Marsh's recovery will be a bounce back situation for Punjab. He is by far the best batsman in Kings XI Punjab's squad. He has a century and hit the most number of boundaries for Punjab with the best average (45.80), and one of the highest strike-rates in the team.

WV Raman Kings XI assistant Coach

The former India opener WV Raman has been named assistant coach of Kings XI Punjab in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League. It will be his first assignment in this tournament and he will be incrporated with head coach Darren Lehmann. Raman had played 11 Tests and 27 ODIs for India and has plenty of domestic coaching experience. Raman said he looked forward to his new assignment. " Kings XI Punjab has the right mix of experienced as well as young players supported by a world class coaching staff and I shall do my best to get the best out of the players. "

Kings XI Punjab New Signings

Kings XI Punjab have added two uncapped Indian players to their squad. An aggressive batsman Manan Vohra from panchkula and a right-arm medium pace bowler Sandeep Sharma from Patiala has been included for the sixth season of Indian Premier League. Col. Arvinder Singh, COO, Kings XI Punjab, said, " I am very delighted to have a good performers like Aniket, Manan and Sandeep to be part of the Kings XI team and believe they will effectively contribute to the tournament. We wish them all the best and hope that they can utilise this opportunity as a platform to make a mark a niche for themselves as well. " Kings XI Punjab to play their first IPL match against Pune Warriors on April 7.

Lehmann named Kings XI Punjab coach

Former Australian cricketer Darren Lehmann has been appointed the new coach of Kings XI Punjab . Previously, Lehmann had coached the Deccan Chargers . The 42-year-old Lehmann said, " I'm geared up for the challenges it brings and will always encourage our team to be an entertaining and aggressive brand that people love to watch and associate with, I'm also looking forward to working with Adam Gilchrist again and help all the players grow on and off the field. " Lehmann also coaches in the Big Bash League side Queensland and the Brisbane Heat .

Shaun Marsh signs Glamorgan for Friends Life T20

The Australian top order batsman, Shaun Marsh have been signed by Glamorgan as their second overseas player for Friends Life t20. Marsh said, " Having played in both IPL and the Big Bash in Australia, I'm really looking forward to drawing on my experience and hitting some runs when I join up with Glamorgan. " " I played alongside Marcus at Western Australia before, so it will be great to join up with him again. Hopefully we can have a great t20 tournament and with the final of the competition in Cardiff it should be a great summer ahead. " Currently he is playing in the IPL for Kings XI Punjab , and scored over 1,300 runs in the tournament.

Kings XI Punjab signed two players

Kings XI Punjab have included Kyle Abbott (South Africa) and Ben Cutting (Australia) to the squad for the fifth season of the IPL, as replacements for the injured duo of Stuart Broad and R Sathish . Joe Dawes , Kings XI's bowling coach said " I am excited about Kyle and Ben being a part of our squad. Both these seamers are young and talented and have the right spirit to lead the team to great heights. "

Kings 11 Punjab has appointed Adam Gilchrist as a captain cum coach of Kings XI Punjab in the fifth edition of Indian Premier League (IPL).

Kings XI Punjab New Logo

Kings XI Punjab unveiled their new logo for the fifth season of Indian Premier League , starting from April 4 in Chennai. Col Arvinder Singh said, " This new look logo is more vibrant, contemporary and user friendly. It embodies the essence of the ethos that Kings XI Punjab stands for. " The first match of Kings XI Punjab will start on April 6 against Rajasthan Royals .

James Hopes ruled out from IPL due to Injury

Pune Warriors all-rounder James Hopes has been ruled out from the Indian Premier League (IPL5) due to a knee injury. Last year Hopes played for Delhi Daredevils .

Andrew McDonald will play for Royal Challengers Bangalore

Australian all-rounder Andrew McDonald will now play for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the upcoming season of IPL. During the IPL trading window Andrew has moved from Delhi Daredevils to RCB. The BCCI said in a statement, Australia's ALLROUNDER Andrew McDonald now went into the Royal Challengers Bangalore. McDonald is the member of the Melbourne Renegades in Big Bash League .

Kevin Pietersen join Delhi Daredevils

Kevin Pietersen has been moved to Delhi Daredevils from Deccan Chargers in the upcoming season of 2012 IPL . In 2009, Pietersen was being a part of and captained Royal Challengers Bangalore for a few games. Pietersen, said: " I am looking forward to a wonderful time with the Delhi Daredevils," Pietersen said. "It will be a great experience to be playing in the same squad as Sehwag ."

Gillespie the new coach for Yorkshire

Jason Gillespie , the former Australian fast bowler has been appointed as the new coach of Yorkshire on a two-year term, said English county . Gillespie played for county from 2006 to 2007. He also spent time as a bowling coach in the IPL with Kings XI Punjab and Australia A including with Zimbabwe domestic team MidWest Rhinos . In his test career between 1996 to 2006, He played 71 test matches and took 259 wickets.
