IPL 2023: Jason Roy joins Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the signing of England’s batsman Jason Roy for IPL 2023.  The 32-year-old had previously played for the team in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Knight Riders have acquired him for INR 2.8 crore, which is above his base price of INR 1.5 crore. KKR have lost two of their star players. Shreyas Iyer, who was meant to lead the team, has been sidelined from the tournament due to a lower back injury. Meanwhile, Shakib Al Hasan has pulled out due to personal reasons.  But in the midst of all this turmoil, KKR have made an exciting acquisition by bringing in Jason Roy. The right-handed batter is expected to make valuable contributions to his team in the upcoming fixtures. 

IPL 2020: Eoin Morgan to lead Kolkata Knight Riders

The two-time IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders have named Eoin Morgan as their new captain, replacing Dinesh Karthik, who faced huge criticism for his performance with the bat in the current season. The wicketkeeper-batsman has struggled to score much with the bat in the tournament so far. In a media statement , the franchise said Karthik "wishes to handover" the captainship to Morgan "with a view to focus on his batting and contributing more to the team's cause." The 34-year-old Irishman will lead the Knight for the rest of the campaign. The England World Cup winner re-joined KKR during the Indian Premier League auction last December. IPL 2020: KKR's seamer Ali Khan ruled out of tournament

Kolkata Knight Riders fast bowler Ali Khan has been ruled out of the tournament after he suffered an injury. The 29-year-old Pakistan-born Ali, who was a replacement for left-arm pacer Harry Gurney, has now been ruled out of the ongoing Indian Premier League due to an injury.  Khan, who is the first player from the United States to land an IPL contract, has claimed 38 wickets in 36 T20 matches at an economy rate of 7.43. The Knights to play their next match against MS Dhoni-led Chennai Super Kings in Abu Dhabi on Wednesday, October 7.

IPL: Jacques Kallis named KKR head coach

Former South African all-rounder Jacques Kallis has been appointed the head coach of Kolkata Knight Riders for the ninth edition of the Indian Premier League, starting next year. The 40-year-old succeeds the current England coach Trevor Bayliss, who was managing KKR for four years. Kallis said: ”KKR is my family in India and the association since 2011 has been one of the most enjoyable experiences for me. I look forward to the new challenge and feel honoured to be part of the KKR family"  The 6 ft 2 in allrounder made his IPL debut with the Royal Challengers Bangalore in 2008, before moving to Shahrukh Khan co-owned franchise KKR in 2011 and had taken up the role of a mentor and batting consultant last year. Kallis helped KKR lift two titles as a player.

CLT20 Final: Twitter reacts as Chennai Super Kings triumph

The middle-order batsman Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 109 in just 62 balls in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) finals against the reigning IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Raina, 27, came into bat when Chennai Super Kings were trailing at 9 runs but with his outstanding performance powered Chennai to an eight-wicket win. The victory brings CSK their second CLT20 title. United by Nation, Divided by IPL

On Thursday evening in the IPL match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders at M Chinnaswamy Stadium, RCB skipper Virat Kohli and KKR skipper Gautam Gambhir 's were involved in an ugly on-field spat. It all started during RCB's 10th over, when Kohli was dismissed by Lakshmipathy Balaji and as Kohli turned towards the pavilion , Gambhir said something which made Kohli furious. Suddenly Kohli charged back towards Gambhir and the Gambhir too angrily walked towards Kohli. At the end of the match, RCB won by eight wickets, both Kohli and Gambhir shake hands. During the post-match presentation, Kohli said, " It's done, what is done on the field is done (spat) " Gambhir said, " It happens in the heat of the moment. We don't need to carry it off the field. Gautam Gambhir fined USD 20,000

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) skipper Gautam Gambhir has been fined in IPL Tournament for slow over rate during the match against Delhi Daredevils in Delhi. Gambhir said, " I think aggressive cricket is very important. More so, we have such aggressive batsmen. It is  the responsibility of batsmen like me, Brendon McCullum  or Yusuf  Pathan to bat aggressively and do the scoring.  It is our natural style. ”

Kolkata Knight Riders sign four new players

Four cricketers from india's domestic cricket have been included in Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season of IPL -5 . Iresh Saxena, Debabrata Das, Sanju Samson and Chirag Jani are their fresh faces.

Gambhir out of the Champions League qualifier

Captain of the Kolkata night riders Gautam Gambhir will not play Champions League T20 qualifying matches on 18 and 21 September due to his injury in England tour. The Director of night riders Joy Bhattacharya said South African allrounder Jacques Kallis will replace Gambhir captaincy.

Eoin Morgan Will Return To IPL

England Great explosive Batsmen Eoin Morgan said that If in the Sri Lanka test match they did not get place in the national team then, he will be available for his franchise Kolkata Knight Riders team in Indian Premier League (IPL). Sri Lanka warm-up match against England Lions from scoring double century of 193 missed Morgan told reporters that if I chose not then I will make another plan. We have been doing great in the IPL and if the team reached in playoff then i will back in IPL . In IPL only 137 runs so far in the tournament Morgan said changes to their batting order they learned a lot. He said there are circumstances in which use them in my batting has improved. It is part of the learning process.
