Zimbabwe have announced their 16-man Test squad which will be led by all-rounder Sean Williams. The first Test is slated to begin on April 29, while the second test is scheduled to play on May 7. Zimbabwe Cricket has launched the National Premier League (NPL) featuring the top nine clubs.  The NPL is designed to revive domestic cricket structures and to identify emerging talent around the country. The Sports and Recreation Commission has given Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) the green signal to have the domestic competition take place. The clubs are: Amakhosi Queens Takashinga Rainbow Gladiators Harare Kings Great Zimbabwe MidWest Easterns  US$10,000 will be the prize money of the tournament. Pakistan to host Zimbabwe for their proposed white-ball tour next month. The series will feature three ODI's between October 30 and November 3 which is going to be played in Multan, and then another three T20Is in Rawalpindi starting on 7, 8 and 10 November. Due to the coronavirus pandemic, all six matches will be played behind the closed doors. Hence, no fans will be allowed in the stadium. Zimbabwe are likely to tour Pakistan for three one-day internationals and three T20 Internationals, with all fixtures are likely to be held in Lahore. The limited overs series will be played in a bio-secure environment due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Both boards are currently in discussions about finalising an itinerary for the entire white-ball format series.

Zimbabwe will host Australia and Pakistan for a T20 tri-series starting this July. The hosts opted not to play any Tests against the two heavyweights sides, even though Aussies were scheduled to play one Test, while Pakistan were supposed to face Zimbabwe in a two-Test series. Zimbabwe will be hosting the series after failing to qualify for the 2019 World Cup. “Playing two of the game’s biggest teams will provide us with a very welcome litmus test as we forge ahead with our plans to develop a stronger Zimbabwe side capable of consistently competing and winning against the best,” Zimbabwe Cricket’s managing director Faisal Hasnain was quoted as saying by ESPNcricinfo .

Zimbabwe to tour Netherlands to play three ODI matches, that are scheduled to be played on June 20, 22 and 24.   "We are pleased to confirm Zimbabwe will be touring the Netherlands as part of a potentially exciting and competitive five-game programme that will also see us visiting Scotland for two of the matches," ZC managing director Wilfred Mukondiwa said.  "While the tour will give our boys the much-needed game time and a feel of unfamiliar conditions, it will also go a long way in preparing our team for the tougher series away to Sri Lanka." Both nations have played each other on two occasions in ODIs or T20Is. Zimbabwe are currently sit 11th in the ODI rankings table, one place ahead of Ireland.

Despite the protests in Zimbabwe over civil and economic issues, the New Zealand’s 15-man Test squad led by Kane Williamson arrived in the African continent for a two-Test series. The Black Caps will play a three-day warm-up fixture starting on July 22 in the capital. "It's nice to finally be here. We had a good tour here last year, so I'm sure it will be much the same," Tom Latham, the New Zealand opener, said . "It was a good week of preparation for us in South Africa. "It was good to catch up with the guys. We want to win every game, like we do on most tours. "It's nice to have everyone back, everyone is fully fit. We'll get the warm-up game out of the way and then focus on the two Tests." The first official Test gets underway on July 28, followed by the second on August 6. Zimbabwe pacer Tendai Chatara has earned a place in the 15-man squad for the ICC World Twenty20. Chatara, 24, whose last international appearance for the country came during the 2015 World Cup, and only returned to competitive cricket last month. He has claimed 7 wickets in 7 T20 Internationals. Opener batsman Tino Mawoyo has been recalled to Zimbabwe's 20-man squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan . Zimbabwe fast bowler Kyle Jarvis , who recently announced his retirement from international cricket , has now signed Lancashire on a three-year-deal. " I am delighted to be joining Lancashire on a three-year contract, as playing county cricket has been an ambition of mine for a number of years and the opportunity to forge a career in England was one that was too good to miss, " Jarvis said. The 24-year-old, Jarvis made his international debut in 2009, played 24 ODIs, took 27 wickets at an average of 45.22.

Zimbabwe fast bowler Kyle Jarvis the taken retirement from international cricket. Jarvis has accepted a county offer and opted out of the upcoming series against Pakistan. Zimbabwe left-arm spinner, Ray Price has announced his retirement from international cricket. The 37-year-old player said: " I was going to wait until my contract expired to call it a day but, yes, I've decided to retire from international cricket, I won't be going with the guys to Bulawayo. I'm retired. " In his career, Price took 100 wickets in 102 ODIs and 80 dismissals in 22 Tests and 13 scalps in 16 T20 Internationals. At the age of 23, Price played his debut against Sri Lanka at Harare Sports Club in 1999.
