BBL 2020: Sam Billings joins Sydney Thunder

England batsman Sam Billings has joined the Sydney Thunder for the upcoming season. The 29-year-old becomes the Thunder's third overseas signing in this season’s Big Bash League joining the compatriot Alex Hales and Adam Milne. BBL 2020: Alex Hales re-signs for Sydney Thunder

England international Alex Hales becomes the first overseas player to sign a new deal with Sydney Thunder for the Big Bash League. The Nottinghamshire batsman became the third Englishman to join the Australian professional franchise Twenty20 cricket league after Tom Banton of Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers's Tom Curran, with many other Brits are expected to join the trio. Hales was axed from the national team shortly before the 2019 World Cup for using recreational drugs and has not played since. The 31-year-old has scored 576 runs from 17 games - the second-highest scorer during the last year's BBL at 38.40 average and a strike-rate of 146.93. The BBL is due to start on December 3. Daniel Sams pens contract extension at Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder all-time leading wicket-taker Daniel Sams has extended his contract with the club until the end of BBL|12. The 27-year-old dominated the Big Bash League last summer, with a record-breaking 30 wickets at an average of 15.37, surpassing Kane Richardson’s record of 24. The Australia international is currently in England for the T20 and ODI series before he will head to Dubai with the Delhi Capitals for the IPL 2020 . Big Bash League: Mitchell McClenaghan signs for Sydney Thunder

Former New Zealand pacer Mitchell McClenaghan has signed up with Sydney Thunder in the Australian twenty20 Big Bash League. The 31-year-old bowler turned down his NZ contract in August to focus on playing in the twenty20 leagues around the world. The Left-arm paceman has plenty of experience in T20 format, having played with Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League, Durban Qalanders in South Africa's T20 league, and St Lucia Stars in the Caribbean Premier League. "I spent some time at the St Lucia Stars with Shane Watson and got to know his outlook on the game and hear his passion for Sydney Thunder and the organisation," McClenaghan told Cricket.com.au . CONFIRMED: Eoin Morgan returns to Sydney Thunder

Sydney Thunder have confirmed that the England international Eoin Morgan will feature in the upcoming Big Bash League, staring from 18 December 2014 to 28 January 2015. He is agreed to play in yet another four games, before joining the England squad for the ICC World Cup 2015. Morgan will join the star batsman Usman Khawaja, Jacques Kallis and Mike Hussey, which seems to be a good line up for Thunder this season. Morgan's England teammates Michael Lumb and Alex Hales have also signed to play in the BBL with the Sydney Sixers and Hobart Hurricanes respectively.

Big Bash League: David Warner unavailable this season

Australian Test opener David Warner has announced he will not be playing in the Big Bash League this season, due to hectic international summer schedule. The 27-year-old, who was a part of the Sydney Thunder last year, has declared he wouldn't be signing any contract with BBL this year, starts December 18 at Adelaide. " It was obviously a really hard decision because I love playing in the Big Bash, " Warner said . " But with a massive summer of international cricket I want to focus on doing the best I can for the Test team and hopefully help us win the World Cup ." Australia to play 5-match ODI series against South Africa followed by Test series against India and the ODI tri-series against England before the ICC world Cup 2015.

BBL: Jacques Kallis joins Sydney Thunder

Legendary South African allrounder Jacques Kallis has joined the Big Bash League after signing a two-year deal with the Sydney Thunder . After a stellar stint with IPL champions Kolkata Knight Riders , Kallis will be looking to use the Big Bash League as a stepping stone for his 2015 World Cup selection.

Big Bash League - Ajantha Mendis signs Sydney Thunder

Sri Lanka spinner Ajantha Mendis has committed himself by signing a deal with Sydney Thunder for Big Bash League .  The 28-year-old will join his fellow team player Tillakaratne Dilshan , who joined them last month . Mendis, who also plays for Pune Warriors in Indian Premier League , said: "I have watched the success of the BBL and to have a chance to play in it and test myself against some of the best players in the world is extremely exciting.” Sydney Thunder coach Chandika Hathurusinghe and the former Sri Lanka batsman has expressed his happiness to have Mendis to Squad. "The signing of Ajantha is a major boost for the Thunder because he provides both experience and an element of mystery to the bowling line-up,"  Hathurusinghe said.  Mendis, who has an excellent career in Twenty20 format, played 85 Twenty20s with an average of 17.71 with 117 wickets and an economy rate of 6.56. BBL: Tillakaratne Dilshan signs Sydney Thunder

Sri Lankan former test cricketer, Tillakaratne Dilshan has has put pen to paper with Sydney Thunder for the forthcoming season of the Big Bash League . Dilshan said, ''I'm really keen to play in the Big Bash. It's such a wonderful, competitive tournament, I've been hoping to play for the past three years but [each time] I've had to go for international duty. This year I'm free to play almost the entire tournament. It's really exciting. I've always enjoyed Australian wickets, with the extra bounce. I'm really eager for this opportunity.'' The 37-year-old right-handed batsman will join the former Australia Michael Hussey in Sydney Thunder.

BBL: Morgan signs Sydney Thunder

England batsman, Eoin Morgan has signed for Sydney Thunder at Australia's biggest T-20 tournament, Big Bash League that begins on December 21. "I am really excited about getting the opportunity to join the Sydney Thunder for this season's Big Bash," Morgan said in a statement. "I have been a big admirer of the tournament and I'm looking forward to getting a chance to play in it." The 27-year-old, who also plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in Indian Premier League  was recently not picked for the England Ashes squad .

Sydney Thunder sign Mike Hussey

Former Australian left-handed batsman, Mike Hussey has signed Sydney Thunder in the Australian Twenty20 Big Bash League , where he will join his mate Michael Clarke . The 38-year-old, who quit international cricket in January 2013 said: " I'm extremely excited about joining the Sydney Thunder and having the opportunity to be part of a young, energetic side that will represent the west of Sydney with pride. " " The team and the area have enormous potential and I hope that I can bring my experience to help get the best out of the side and develop the talented playing group that we have. " The Australian Twenty20 Big Bash League gets underway in December 2013.

Sydney Thunder sign Prior and Guptill

Sydney Thunder have signed England wicketkeeper Matt Prior and the New Zealand opener batsman Martin Guptill to this summer's BBL. The Thunder coach Shane Duff said, " Martin is an outstanding player in all formats. His T20 record is exceptional and he will be of vital importance to us in the round one game against our cross town rivals. "

Gayle, Afridi signs Sydney Thunder

Explosive batsman from West Indies Chris Gayle and Pakistan's all-rounder Shahid Afridi have signed for the Sydney Thunder in Twenty20 Big Bash league this summer. In last season, Gayle scored 252 runs at an average of 42 for the Thunder. Shane Duff , Coach of Sydney said, " along with (Australian test opener) David Warner, Chris Gayle is the best T20 player in the world. "

Gayle Will Play in Australia's Twenty20 Big Bash
