Rashid Khan signing for Sussex could be THE coup of the T20 season

Sussex have pulled off an absolutely magnificent coup by securing the signing of leg spinner Rashid Khan for the first half of their T20 Blast campaign. The Afghan prodigy was the breakout star of the Big Bash, where he led the league with 18 wickets and had the best bowling economy. That put him ahead of modern day greats like Nathan Lyon and Ashton Agar and it drove his team, the Adelaide Strikers, to the unlikeliest of BBL triumphs. The Sussex Sharks will hope that rubs off on them as they bid to claim a maiden T20 Blast title. BBL: Afghanistan spinner Rashid Khan joins Adelaide Strikers

Adelaide Strikers have announced the signing of Afghanistan spin sensation Rashid Khan for the seventh edition of the Australia's domestic T20 Big Bash League. Rashid becomes the first Afghan cricketer to be played in Australia's domestic T20 league and the second overseas player for Strikers. "I am very happy to have signed with the Strikers for the BBL," the 18-year-old leg-spinner said . "It is a huge honour to be a part of such a great tournament and even more of an honour to be the first Afghanistan player to participate on the BBL stage. I look forward to linking up with my Strikers teammates and backroom staff."
