Tim Southee, New Zealand’s prolific paceman and all-time leading wicket-taker across formats, has announced the third Test against England could be his final appearance in red-ball cricket.  If New Zealand qualifies for the World Test Championship (WTC) final next year, he may make himself available for one last hurrah. Southee, 35, will have a fitting end to his career at Seddon Park, Hamilton, his home ground. New Zealand have announced their 15-member ODI squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia, starting September 6. The right-arm fast-medium bowler Matt Henry has returned to the squad after missing the West Indies tour due to a rib injury.  However, Kyle Jamieson and Adam Milne weren’t considered in the ODI setup due to their respective injuries. Pakistan Cricket Board have announced their T20I tri-series schedule, starting on 7 October against Bangladesh and New Zealand on the following day. The number-three ranked Pakistan will travel to New Zealand from 7-14 October as part of their ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Australia 2022 preparations. In the second round of matches, Babar Azam's side will play Black Caps and Bangladesh on 11 and 13 October, with the final scheduled for 14 October. New Zealand all-rounder James Neesham has decided to leave Wellington Firebirds after a four-year career. The 31-year-old is currently contracted with the Indian Premier League outfit Rajasthan Royals and Northamptonshire in the T20 Vitality Blast. I'm so proud to have been part of this team, said Neesham. He joined Wellington in 2018-19 and enjoyed an impressive success by winning four domestic trophies with them, contributing 503 runs in 12 matches with an average of 62.87 and also took 13 wickets. 

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced the 13-member England squad for the first two Tests against New Zealand, starting on June 02 at Lords in London. Under the leadership of Ben Stokes (captain), England has recalled James Anderson and Stuart Broad to the red-ball outfit.  Chris Woakes, Jofra Archer, Sam Curran, Mark Wood and Saqib Mahmood have not been included due to their respective injuries. New Zealand pacer Hamish Bennett has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket.  The 35-year-old, who made his international debut in October 2010, has played one Test, 19 ODIs and 11 T20Is. Bennett has claimed 489 wickets and established himself as one of the most reliable bowlers in the country.

The first international test match of 2022 may be headed towards a historic finish as play ended on Day 4. New Zealand Cricket named a 15-men squad for the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 and India T20Is on Tuesday. Kane Williamson will continue to lead the side for the upcoming tournament. The 2021 T20 World Cup will be played in Oman and the United Arab of Emirates from October 17 to November 14. New Zealand Cricket has confirmed a full programme of international cricket tour, with 37 days of international cricket scheduled this summer. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic - West Indies, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Australia will tour to New Zealand as per the current (FTP) Future Tours Programme. "We are making tremendous progress. I was just on the phone to the West Indies, they're confirmed, Pakistan is confirmed, Australia and Bangladesh... so 37 days of international cricket," David White, the NZC CEO, told reporters in Auckland. New Zealand Cricket has refused to host the Indian Premier League Twenty20 mega-rich tournament in the midst of speculation the competition could be played here. Earlier it was reported that an unnamed Indian cricket official saying New Zealand is the latest nation after UAE and Sri Lanka which has offered to host the billion-dollar league in case the tournament can't be held in India because of a surge in the coronavirus cases. The competition has been postponed indefinitely although the BCCI is hopeful of playing it from the end of October. "Staging the event in India has to be the first choice but in case it is not safe to have it, then we will look at the overseas options. After UAE and Sri Lanka, New Zealand has also offered to host the IPL," a senior BCCI official told the newspaper. "We will sit down with all stakeholders (broadcaster, teams, etc) and take a call. As a result of the coronavirus pandemic - New Zealand tour of Bangladesh has been postponed on Tuesday. Black Caps were slated to play two Tests in August-September this year as part of the ICC World Test Championship. Three Bangladeshi players, including Nazmul Islam, Nafees Iqbal and the former ODI skipper Mashrafe Mortaza, have tested positive for the deadly contagion. “In the present COVID-19 pandemic scenario, hosting a full cricket series in August 2020 will be a challenge in terms of preparations,” BCB chief executive Nizamuddin Chowdhury said in a statement. “Under these circumstances, the BCB and NZC (New Zealand Cricket) have felt that the best way forward would be to defer the series,” he added. The governing bodies from both sides were working on a new schedule for the Test series. Bangladesh has so far reported more than 100k coronavirus cases with over 1,500 mortality.

SETBACK: England batsman Joe Denly has been ruled out of the rest of England's five-match Twenty20 International series against New Zealand after damaging a ligament in his ankle during practice on Thursday. The England management have not summoned a replacement for the 33-year-old Kent batsman, who sustained ligament damage to his right ankle during the practice session. With that said, Denly missed the opening match on Friday, which England won by seven wickets. The next match is to be played in Wellington on Sunday at 01:00 GMT. New Zealand all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn will join Indian Premier League outfit Chennai Super Kings, replacing injured South African seamer Lungi Ngidi, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Kuggeleijn, 27, made his T20 debut for Black Caps this year, having first played One-Day International two years ago. The controversial kiwi has faced two trials over charges of raping a woman in 2015. But his selection in the national team this year was highly shocking as a result, and he faced a hostile welcome from fans and commentators. Mike Hesson has announced that he will be stepping down as Blackcaps coach citing family reasons. New Zealand fast bowler Matt Henry has signed a deal with Kent for the first half of the 2018 County season. The 26-year-old, who has a vast of experience in English cricket after successful spells with Worcestershire and Derbyshire over the last two years, will be available for Kent's first seven matches in the County Championship and the Royal London Cup. He has played 9 Tests, 35 ODIs and 6 T20Is for New Zealand. The right-armer pacer will be also Kent's overseas player in England's domestic 50-over competition, the One Day Cup. Henry is part of Black Cap's 12-man test squad for the upcoming series against England, which gets underway with the pink ball test at Eden Park, Auckland on March 22.
