CLT20: Malinga chooses Mumbai Indians over Southern Express

Sri Lanka ’s fast bowler Lasith Malinga has chosen to play for Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians over his home team - the Southern Express at the Champions League T20, scheduled to be played in September. According to a player’s contract, the individuals can choose which team they would want to represent in T20 tournament. The 30-year-old has been part of the Mumbai Indians since 2009, has played 10 matches and took 16 wickets for the Mumbai Indians in the most recent season of Indian Premier League ‘season7’. The CLT20 will be played in India, starting on September 7.

India v West Indies 2014: Venues announced

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the venues for the upcoming home series against the West Indies later this year in October and November. The series will include 3 Tests, 5 One Day Internationals and a Twenty20 with Feroz Shah Kotla cricket ground in Delhi will be hosting its first ever Twenty20 match. England squad for Third Test against India in Southampton

Lancashire’s Jos Buttler will replace Matt Prior as a wicket-keeper in the England squad for the third test against India in Southampton, staring on Sunday. The 23-year-old has played 33 ODI’s and 36 Twenty20 international for his country and ready to make his Test debut against India on Sunday. South African pacer Vernon Philander penalised for tampering with the ball

South Africa seamer Vernon Philander has been fined 75% of his match fees for tampering with the ball during the first Test against Sri Lanka at Galle. The 29-year-old was charged after the footage emerged of him - trying to change the condition of the ball by scratching the surface with his finger and thumb in the course of the third day's play on Friday.  Philander accepted the punishment without contesting. An ICC statement read: " Philander was charged with an article 2.2.9 offence of the ICC Code of Conduct which relates to 'changing the condition of the ball in breach of Law 42.3 of the Laws of Cricket’ . "The charge was laid following the conclusion of Friday's play and after viewing television footage by on-field umpires Billy Bowden and Richard Kettleborough, third umpire Nigel Llong, all from the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, fourth umpire Ruchira Palliyaguruge as well as match referee Jeff Crowe." Mahela Jayawardene to quit Test cricket

Sri Lanka batsman Mahela Jayawardene has announced that he is going to retire from Test cricket after the forthcoming series against South Africa and Pakistan later this year. However, he will continue to play in the 50-over format, making himself available for ICC World Cup 2015 in Australia and New Zealand.

Sri Lanka squad for Test series against South Africa

Upul Tharanga, a left handed batsman has been recalled after being named in Sri Lanka's 15-man squad for the two-Test series against South Africa, starts at Galle on 16th July. The 29-year-old opening batsman, who played his last Test against England in 2007. Pakistan Test and ODI squad for Sri Lanka Tour 2014

After struggling in Test cricket for a long time, the right-handed opening batsman Mohammad Hafeez has been dropped from 15-man Pakistan's Test squad for Sri Lanka tour. Meanwhile Umar Akmal has earned his place to the Test squad, who will replace the 33-year-old Hafeez. Fast bowler Mohammad Irfan and Umar Gul both are ruled out due to injury issues. Big Bash League: David Warner unavailable this season

Australian Test opener David Warner has announced he will not be playing in the Big Bash League this season, due to hectic international summer schedule. The 27-year-old, who was a part of the Sydney Thunder last year, has declared he wouldn't be signing any contract with BBL this year, starts December 18 at Adelaide. " It was obviously a really hard decision because I love playing in the Big Bash, " Warner said . " But with a massive summer of international cricket I want to focus on doing the best I can for the Test team and hopefully help us win the World Cup ."
