Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2022: Schedule, Telecast & Live Streaming Details

Sri Lanka's domestic T20 cricket - The Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2022 is scheduled to start with the league phase on August 1 and final match to be played on August 21.  The tournament will have five teams with the likes of Colombo Stars, Dambulla Giants, Galle Gladiators, Jaffna Kings and Kandy Falcons. Sri Lanka Premier League Cancelled for this Year

Sri Lanka Cricket has cancelled the Sri Lanka Premier League 2013 due to lack of investors to pay the tournament fee and the bank guarantees for player payments, an official release confirmed. The tournament was due to take place between August 10 and September 7. " We want to maintain the integrity of the board and the integrity of the tournament, so we had to take a stand, " SLPL director Ajit Jayasekara said. " We can't have a situation where the franchises say, 'We will pay if the other franchises pay'. "Player payments are a major factor in this. We are the only league in the world not to have defaulted on our player payments, and the franchises failed to provide those bank guarantees. We have given them enough chances and we can't stand this nonsense."

Sri Lanka Premier League to begin on August 10, 2013

The second edition of the Sri Lanka Premier League is ready to kick off as scheduled, sports ministry announced. The ministry spokesman Harsha B Abeykoon said, " The ministry of sports wishes to confirm that Sri Lanka Cricket will conduct the Sri Lanka Premier League (SLPL) on the scheduled dates, from August 10 to September 07, 2013. "At no stage have the Franchises refused or stated their inability to participate in the forthcoming SLPL 2013. The request made by the Franchises has been referred to the Attorney-General's Department for an opinion based on the existing contracts." "We have a problem this year. The franchise owners are pulling out," sports minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage was quoted as saying in the local Sunday press. In 2011, There was a first edition of the SLPL, which was aborted as the BCCI failed to release Indian players.

The Sri Lanka Premier League ( SPL ) will be broadcast via Youtube to a global audience, president Upali Dharmadasa confirmed. All 24 matches to be broadcast on an official SLPL channel. Dharmadasa said, " It was an idea that was brought to us, and we approved it because it gives the tournament the benefit of reaching more cricket fans around the world. " The SLPL will start from August 11.

Sri Lanka Premier League postponed

Colombo, Friday, 8 July 2011 Sri Lanka Premier League tournament has been postponed until next year August 2012 and will be replaced by a provincial tournament including six local teams, without International players. After the withdrawal decision taken by Indian players, there has been created several problems for SPL. According to Cricinfo reports that the decision of postponed the league probably were taken after a meeting between the Sri Lanka's new cricket committee and the league's organizers Somerset Entertainment Ventures.

More Pakistani Cricketers in Sri Lankan Premier League

Mumbai, Sunday 19 June 2011 Sri Lanka Premier League postponed BCCI Board banned Indian players to participate in the SPL tournament, because it is being organized by Singapore private company rather than a Sri Lanka Cricket Board . BCCI President Shashank Manohar said we decided that any Indian cricketer to take part in the League will not be allowed because a tournament is organised by a private company in Singapore .
