India Test squad for Tour of England 2014

Left-handed opening batsman Gautam Gambhir earned a recall to the Indian Test squad for the series against England , starting this summer, while the veteran left-arm fast bowler Zaheer Khan was left out due to a hamstring injury. Gambhir has been in an excellent form in this Ranji season and with his decent performance in the ongoing Indian Premier League has helped the 32-year-old to be included in an 18-man squad for the five-Test match series of England which starts in July. Glamorgan sign Darren Sammy for T20 campaign

English county Glamorgan have signed West Indies Twenty20 skipper Darren Sammy for part of their NatWest T20 Blast campaign. Bangladesh announce appointment of Sarwar Imran as assistant coach

Bangladesh Cricket Board have announced Sarwar Imran as the team's new assistant coach for the three-match ODI series against India next month on June 15. " We have appointed Imran bhai as assistant coach for the upcoming India series, " BCB chairman Akram Khan told ESPNcricinfo . " Since Hathurusingha arrives on June 10, Imran bhai will begin the training from Monday. He has been Bangladesh's coach previously. He will be with the team till the India series, and then we will take it from there. " Imran, who was the former head coach of the national side in 2000 and is thought to be a highly-regarded figure in Bangladesh cricket. India will arrive in Bangladesh on June 13 for the three-match ODI series, starting on June 15 followed by 17 and 19.

Eoin Morgan disappointed with bowlers

England captain Eoin Morgan has been disappointed with his team's bowling attack following the nine-run T20 defeat to Sri Lanka on Tuesday at the Oval. The world T20 champions, Sri Lanka made an impressive 183 runs in 20 overs. "Our bowling has let us down for quite a while," said Middlesex left-hander Morgan. "We either get up there with the chase and just fall short, or set a good score." The hosts have lost nine of their eleven Twenty20 this year. Natwest T20 Review

The revamped T20 started last night, with Sussex ’s chase down against Surrey the pick of the night’s matches. As for last night, Sussex managed to hit consecutive boundaries with the last two balls to claim an unlikely win over Surrey. Jason Roy and Gary Wilson both hit 50’s as Surrey posted an imposing 171-7 from their 20 overs. Luke Wright smashed 56 in the reply, however when he was bowled by Thomas Curren, Sussex at 107-4 were behind the required run rate. Things got worse for the hosts when Kevin O’Brien claimed two wickets in two balls, meaning Sussex were 111-6! Chris Nash and Chris Jordan steadied the ship, however Sussex were left needing 16 of a final Jade Dernbach over to win the match. Dernbach got rid of Jordan, however it brought Yasri Arafat to the crease and he smashed the hosts home with back to back fours. Elsewhere Northants edged past Yorkshire by three wickets, with England under-19 wicket keeper Ben Duckett the star of the show.

England vs. Sri Lanka T20 Series Preview

England will be looking to put a nightmare winter behind them against Sri Lanka . The T20 series starts on Tuesday and the T20 World Champions are surprisingly outsiders for the match. Even without the brilliant pair of Kumar Sangakarra and Mahela Jayawardene, who have retired from the games shortest format, they have an excellent squad. England ODI and T20 squad against Sri Lanka

England have announced their limited-overs squads for the upcoming five ODIs series against Sri Lanka. Fast-medium bowler Tim Bresnan has been returned to the England's limited-overs squad following with a back injury. England play the only T20I and five ODIs against the World Twenty20 champions, starting at The Oval on May 20. West Indies: Darren Sammy quits Test cricket as Ramdin given captaincy

The all-rounder Darren Sammy has announced his retirement from Test cricket after he was replaced as West Indies captain by wicketkeeper Denesh Ramdin. The 29-year-old Ramdin would replace Sammy as captain of the Test side ahead of the home series against New Zealand , beginning on June 8 in Jamaica, the WICB confirmed on their official website . Ramdin has scored 2,235 runs in 56 Tests at an average of 27.25, along with four centuries. However, the 30-year-old Sammy, who made his debut in 2007 against England at Old Trafford will remain as West Indies Twenty20 captain and will continue to be involved in the ODIs.

Stuart Broad ruled out of ODI series against Sri Lanka

England 's T20 captain Stuart Broad has been ruled out of the ODI series against Sri Lanka  after struggling with injury. The Nottinghamshire fast bowler has issues with his ongoing knee problem and the 27-year-old reportedly preparing to be fit for the Test series which begins on June 12 at Lord’s. " I’m just having a little bit of time to get my knee 100% right, " said Broad. "Hopefully I'll play the seven back-to-back Test matches and then the one-day series against India." Broad will also miss the match against Scotland in Aberdeen on Friday and five one-day internationals with Twenty20 match against Sri Lanka.

Alex Hales joins Worcestershire on loan from Nottinghamshire

England right-handed batsman Alex Hales has joined Worcestershire on a month's loan from Nottinghamshire .
