Sri Lanka Test squad for South Africa Tour

Sri Lankan batsman Thilan Samaraweera has been added to the 17th member of the touring squad for next month Test series against South Africa. In 68 Test matches, Samaraweera has scored 4,683 runs with an average of 52.61 with 12 centuries. Sri Lanka's Test squad : Tillakaratne Dilshan (capt), Tharanga Paranavitana, Mahela Jayawardene, Angelo Mathews (vice-capt), Dinesh Chandimal, Lahiru Thirimanne, Kaushal Silva, Kumar Sangakkara, Chanaka Welegedara, Nuwan Pradeep, Thisara Perera, Dilhara Fernando, Dimuth Karunaratne, Ajantha Mendis, Suranga Lakmal, Thilan Samaraweera and Rangana Herath.

Australian test squad against New Zealand

Australia's aggressive opener David Warner has been selected in the test team for series against New Zealand. Warner replaces all-rounder ShaneWatson . Mitchell Johnson , Patrick Cummins, Ryan Harris and Shaun Marsh have been ruled out from the test series due to injury. Australia's new fast bowling attack James Pattinson, Ben Cutting and Mitchell Starc have been included in the team. Squad : Michael Clarke (captain), David Warner, Phillip Hughes, Michael Hussey, Ricky Ponting , Usman Khawaja, Brad Haddin, Mitchell Starc, Peter Siddle, Nathan Lyon, James Pattinson and Ben Cutting.

Indian Test Squad against Australia

The announcement of Indian cricket team for Australia tour in the Next month has been announced on Saturday. Best performance in the test series against West Indies, Off-spinner R Ashwin and left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha has been selected in the test team. Whereas, Harbhajan Singh and all-rounder Yuvraj Singh both were dropped out for tour of Australia. Rohit Sharma, Praveen Kumar, Umesh Yadav, Varun Aaron, Ajinkya Rahane, Wriddhiman Saha and Zaheer Khan have been selected in the seventeen-Member test team. Dwayne Bravo play for Sydney Sixers in Big Bash Twenty-20

West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is ready to play for Sydney Sixers in the upcoming KFC T20 Big Bash competition, Recently Bravo was sidelined with an ankle injury. Last year Bravo played for Victoria in the Big Bash League. Bravo will leave on Dec 10 for Australia to play Big Bash Twenty-20 League and returning Jan 7 to take part in the 2012 Caribbean Twenty20 championship. Bravo said: "I will be flying out to Australia for the Big Bash but this time around I will also be available for Trinidad & Tobago in the regional series, as we look to defend our title."

Sachin's Nervous Nineties Record

Master-Blaster Sachin Tendulkar once again missed the 100th ton in Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai against West Indies. Recently in England tour, Sachin Tendulkar had missed 100th ton by only nine runs in the oval test. Sachin made his last test century against South Africa at Cape Town in January 2011. While in the ODI cricket sachin made his last century against South Africa in Nagpur in the World Cup 2011. Since then sachin has played 13 test innings and made four half centuries, but still 100th ton has yet to wait. In Nervous Nineties record, Sachin has been out 10 times in test Cricket, while 17 times in ODI .

Harbhajan wants to play 5-6 years more

Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh said that he still can play 5-6 years more. He said he never ran from the competition.  " I think I can still contribute to the team, " said Harbhajan Singh.

Sri Lanka squad against South Africa tour

Ajantha Mendis has been involved in 16-member test squad for the South Africa tour in December. Fast bowler Dilhara Fernando has also been included in the test squad. He played his last test against England in June. Mickey Arthur is the new coach of Australia

Mickey Arthur has been appointed Australia's coach after Tim Nielsen quit. Justin Langer and Tom Moody were also in the race of Australia's new coach but Arthur won the race. Arthur, was coached South Africa from 2005 until 2010. Since then he has worked with Western Australia Arthur said " I am honored and privileged to have another chance to coach an international team, particularly a team of the ilk of Australia. I think I bring a fresh, unblinkered eye to the role after plotting against Australia when coaching South Africa and having now worked within the Australian system with the Western Warriors. " "Australia has an abundance of cricket talent and I am confident the talent is there to ensure Australia is successful, " he added. The 43-year-old, Arthur (non-Australian) will start his coaching on December 1, Test against New Zealand in Brisbane.

Pakistan team against Bangladesh

Pakistan Cricket Board has announced the team for the upcoming series against Bangladesh. Left arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz has not been selected in the squad. Young fast bowler Mohammad Talha will replace Riaz. Pakistan squad : Misbahul Haq (captain), Imran Farhat, Younis Khan, Mohammad Hafeez, Shoaib Malik, Shahid Afridi, Umer Gul, Taufeeq Umer, Sarfraz Ahmed, Saeed Ajmal, Junaid Khan, Abdul Rehman, Umer Akmal, Aizaz Cheema & Asad Shafiq.

Kohli, Gambhir, Raina won CEAT rating award

India's middle order batsman Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli won the Ceat International Youngster of the Year 2011 and T20 Player of the Year awards on Saturday. Left handed opener batsman Gautam Gambhir won the Match-Winning Innings of the Year for his brilliant 97 runs against Sri Lanka on April 2, in the World Cup final at Wankhede Stadium . England batsman Jonathan Trott won two awards, international cricketer of the year and batsman of the year award. James Anderson won International Bowler of the Year award. Indian explosive batsman Virender sehwag and VVS Laxman both were honored with special award for their huge contribution to Indian cricket and for completing 10 years in international cricket. West Indies former fast bowler Courtney Walsh won the Lifetime Achievement Award for the 2010-11 season. All nine players receive the awards worth Rs 5lakh each and a trophy.

Dhoni's bat fetches Rs.72 lakh at auction

Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni's bat fetches Rs.72 lakh at auction. This precious bat was created the world champion in Mumbai on April 2 in the World Cup. Dhoni received 72 lakhs and raise funds to the dhoni's wife's charitable organization - Sakshi Foundation.

West Indies top-order batsman Jason Mohammed and spinner Sunil Narine has been selected in the 15-member team for the five-match ODI series against India starting from November 30 in Cuttack. Former team captain Dwayne Bravo , all-rounder Chris Gayle , Leg spinner Devendra Bishoo and Fidel Edwards has not been selected in the ODI team. Dernbach joins Melbourne Stars

England fast bowler Jade Dernbach has been signed with Melbourne Stars in Big Bash League . Dernbach said. " I can't wait to run out at the MCG with the Stars shirt on my back and play my part in bringing the BBL trophy to the Stars. "

Gillespie the new coach for Yorkshire

Jason Gillespie , the former Australian fast bowler has been appointed as the new coach of Yorkshire on a two-year term, said English county . Gillespie played for county from 2006 to 2007. He also spent time as a bowling coach in the IPL with Kings XI Punjab and Australia A including with Zimbabwe domestic team MidWest Rhinos . In his test career between 1996 to 2006, He played 71 test matches and took 259 wickets.

Steyn becomes 20th bowler to reach 900 ranking points

South African fast bowler Dale Steyn has become the 20th bowler to break the 900 ranking points in the ICC test bowling rankings after won the first test against Australia on Friday claiming six wickets. Steyn started the Cape Town test with 899 points and in the first innings he took 4 wickets and in the second inning took 2 wickets. Steyn is the second bowler of South Africa to reach at this achievement, the first one is Shaun Pollock . 900 or more ratings points shows that the bowler is truly outstanding, Steyn has got 902 points and holding the number one slot in the test bowling rankings. Steyn said " It is very special for me to join the 900-point club. There are a lot of world-class players in that region and it is an honor to be in their company. " England fast bowler James Anderson has 2nd position in test rankings trails him by 91 ratings points, and his team mate Morne Morkel is in third position which is 126 ratings points behind Dale Steyn.

Marsh and Bichel Australia's new selector

Melbourne, Friday, November 11, 2011 Cricket Australia (CA) announced that former Test wicketkeeper Rod Marsh and Andy Bichel will become new part time selector in the five member panel. In the new selection Committee Marsh and Bichel will join chairman John Inverarity and current Captain Michael Clarke . Each Member of the Panel have been part of the national team. Bichel played 19 Tests between 1996 and 2004. Marsh said " I'm excited to be back working for Cricket Australia. It's been a decade since I last worked for CA. " Bichel said " I'm really looking forward to working with John (Inverarity), Rod (Marsh), Michael (Clarke), Cameron (Australia Twenty20 captain Cameron White) and the incoming head coach as we continue to take Australian cricket in the right direction. "

Gautam Gambhir join noble cause, organ donation

New Delhi, November 11, 2011, Friday Indian batsman Gautam Gambhir has pledged to donate his organs and promised to encourage fellow players in the Indian cricket team to follow this noble cause. Lowest score in test cricket Record

Cape Town, Thursday, November 10th, 2011 Australia first test match against South Africa in second innings on Thursday scored only 47 runs all out, which is the lowest score in the last 110 years by Australia. This is the fourth lowest score of the Australian team. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has decided to appoint specialist coaches for the national team and has already declared in advertisement on its website http://www.pcb.com.pk/. Last date to apply is November 18.

India beat W.indies by five wickets in Kotla test

New Delhi, Wednesday, November 9, 2011 Sachin Tendulkar (76), V.V.S Laxman (58) and Virender sehwag (55) with the help of half centuries, India won the first test by five wickets against West Indies in Delhi. Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar once again misses 100th ton. R.Ashwin took nine wickets in this match.

Waqar Younis comments on Shahid Afridi

Captain Dhoni became Lt Colonel

Captain of India cricket team MS Dhoni is now Lieutenant Colonel Mahendra Singh Dhoni in the Territorial Army Former Indian cricket team captain Kapil Dev also honorary Lt. Col. rank in 2008. Moreover, the Indian air force has awarded the rank of Group Captain to Sachin Tendulkar . After gaining respect by Lt Col Dhoni said today it was my dream to be a part of the Indian army on which I'm starting to feel proud, it is difficult to describe in words that I would like to become part of the country's young army. Harbhajan will return soon in team - sehwag

Virender sehwag , after recovering from Shoulder injury returned to the Indian team said that Harbhajan Singh will soon return to the test team against the West Indies and he expected to perform well in the home series against West Indies. He said when I was out, I played domestic cricket and made a comeback in the national team. I'm 100-percent sure that Harbhajan will perform well in domestic cricket. Asked about his fitness sehwag said at the moment I am fit.
