Sussex allrounder Delray Rawlins has extended his contract. The 25-year-old, who helped the Sharks reach the Royal London Cup semi-finals in 2022, has played 104 times for the club since his debut in 2017. "Obviously I have been here my entire professional career and I am looking forward to building on the good things we did this summer," the all-rounder said. "This year I worked on certain aspects of my game, and I am pleased with the progress made so hopefully I can go again next year and produce bigger numbers for the team." Former England left-arm spinner Monty Panesar expressed his desire to return to cricket having been cured of the “paranoia/schizophrenia” which sidelined him over the past few years. Panesar, 37, who was an England regular at his peak taking 167 wickets in 50 Tests — told The Daily Mail he can earn a return to first-class cricket despite being without a club since 2016. His career has jolted since being released by Sussex in 2013 after the spinner urinated on a nightclub bouncer outside a club. “My parents became worried. Sussex have announced the signing of SA Redbacks and Adelaide Strikers batsman Jake Weatherald for their 2019 campaign. The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the hottest batting prospects in Big Bash League. He scored a match-winning century (70-ball 115) in the BBL in February 2018. The highly-rated opening batsman has been one of the most dominant batsmen in Australia since his debut 2015/16 season. As for last night, Sussex managed to hit consecutive boundaries with the last two balls to claim an unlikely win over Surrey. The left-handed batsman Michael Yardy has signed a new one-year contract extension with Sussex that will keep him at the club for the next two seasons (2015), Sussex County Cricket Club announced on their website. Yardy told the club's website: "I'm really happy to have extended my contract with Sussex." The 33-year-old has played 167 games by scoring over 9,000 runs for Sussex, in addition he played 28 ODIs and 14 Twenty20's for England since his debut in 2006.

Pakistani all-rounder Yasir Arafat has signed Sussex for the NatWest T20 Blast tournament which is starting from mid-May until late July, www.sussexcricket.co.uk announced. Arafat has been added as an overseas player for the entire T20 Blast group campaign this season. He already played for Sussex for three times in 2006, 2009 and 2010. The 31-year-old is currently playing in Big Bash League for Perth Scorchers. In Arafat's international career, he has played only three Tests, 11 ODI's and 13 Twenty20 internationals.

According to the Daily Express, the Sussex county player, who relieved himself on the bouncers after being thrown out of the popular Shooshh club at Brighton following a harassment complaint, now faces the prospect of sanctions from his county club Sussex. The 31-year-old had to pay a £90 fine to the police after the incident, for which he has reportedly apologised, with Sussex confirming that they had launched an investigation into the incident. West Indies allrounder Dwayne Smith has been re-signed by Sussex for the Friends Life t20 . Smith help Sussex to victory in the 2009 Twenty20 Cup final by hitting 59 from 26 balls.
