Stuart Broad reaches 500 Test wickets milestone

England's Stuart Broad became the seventh bowler to take 500 wickets in Test cricket. The 34-year-old paceman reaches the milestone when he dismissed Kraigg Brathwaite on the final day of the third Test against West Indies at Old Trafford. Broad made his Test debut in 2007, now has joined one of cricket's most exclusive clubs of 500 Test wickets. He made the history in his 140th Test match.  He is the second Englishman to reach the milestone, after James Anderson. Broad has also been a useful tailender batsman and has scored over 3,000 Test runs, including a century and 13 half-centuries.

Mohammad Amir to join Pakistan squad for England tour

Pakistan bowler Mohammad Amir will join the national squad for the upcoming tour to England. The 28-year-old had previously made himself unavailable for the series in oder to be with his wife for the birth of their second daughter. Much like others, the left-arm seamer will have to be tested negative twice for COVID-19 before traveling to England. If cleared, Amir will feature in the three T20 Internationals against England, starting August 28 at the Ageas Bowl in Southampton. Pakistan is scheduled to play three Tests and three T20s during the tour. The three-Test match series gets underway on 5 August at Old Trafford. Cricket Australia announce preliminary 26-man squad for England tour

Cricket Australia have named the preliminary 26-man squad to tour of England in September for a three-match ODI and T20 series. Uncapped trio Daniel Sams, Riley Meredith and Josh Philippe are some of the prominent names in the squad for a potential late summer tour. The left-handed batsman Usman Khawaja and all-rounder Marcus Stoinis have been included in the limited-overs squad despite dropped from the list of nationally contracted players in the winter. The 5-time World Cup champions were initially scheduled to tour England for three one-day internationals and three T20Is in July but the series was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. CONFIRMED: No IPL in New Zealand

New Zealand Cricket has refused to host the Indian Premier League Twenty20 mega-rich tournament in the midst of speculation the competition could be played here. Earlier it was reported that an unnamed Indian cricket official saying New Zealand is the latest nation after UAE and Sri Lanka which has offered to host the billion-dollar league in case the tournament can't be held in India because of a surge in the coronavirus cases. The competition has been postponed indefinitely although the BCCI is hopeful of playing it from the end of October. "Staging the event in India has to be the first choice but in case it is not safe to have it, then we will look at the overseas options. After UAE and Sri Lanka, New Zealand has also offered to host the IPL," a senior BCCI official told the newspaper. "We will sit down with all stakeholders (broadcaster, teams, etc) and take a call. Warwickshire sign Tim Bresnan until 2022 season

Former England all-rounder Tim Bresnan has signed a two-year deal with the Warwickshire County Cricket Club that will keep him at Edgbaston until the end of the 2022 season. Bresnan, 35, enjoyed a 19-year career at Yorkshire and helped the White Rose that won back-to-back County Championships in the 2014 and 2015 seasons.
