ACC Unveils Full Schedule for Asia Cup 2023

The much-awaited moment has arrived for cricket fans around the world as the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) has pulled back the curtains to unveil the complete schedule of Asia Cup 2023. With a total of 13 exciting matches on the agenda, this tournament promises to deliver a cricketing spectacle like no other. The Asia Cup 2023 will bring together the likes of India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Nepal, setting the stage for an intense battle for regional supremacy. Afghanistan's Squad for Asia Cup 2022

Afghanistan have announced their squad for the Asia Cup, to be played on August 27 in the UAE .  The veteran all-rounder Mohammad Nabi will lead the side for Asia Cup 2022. Middle-order batsman Najibullah Zadran has been named vice-captain for the tournament.  Afghanistan, placed in Group B, will begin their campaign against Sri Lanka on August 27. Squad: Mohammad Nabi (c), Najibullah Zadran (vc), Afsar Zazai (wk), Azmatullah Omarzai, Farid Ahmad Malik, Fazal Haq Farooqi, Hashmatullah Shahidi, Hazratullah Zazai, Ibrahim Zadran, Karim Janat, Mujib ur Rahman, Najibullah Zadran, Naveen ul Haq, Noor Ahmad, Rahmanullah Gurbaz (wk), Rashid Khan, Samiullah Shinwari.

Asia Cup 2022 in UAE - Venues Confirmed

The latest edition of Asia Cup 2022 will be hosted by Sri Lanka Cricket in the United Arab of Emirates. Earlier, Sri Lanka was supposed to host the tournament on their home grounds, but due to a shortage of fuel and food alongside record inflation, they have moved to UAE. Six teams will participate in the Asia Cup. India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Afghanistan have earned a direct ticket for the tournament while the remaining team will book its berth through the qualification round. UAE, Kuwait, Hong Kong and Singapore will compete for the 6th spot, which will begin on August 20.  Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Sharjah Cricket Stadium and Abu Dhabi Cricket Stadium will host all the matches. The championship is slated to begin on August 27 in the T20 format. India to face Pakistan on August 28.

Asia Cup 2018: Pakistan vs India in Dubai (Sept 19)

Arch-rivals Pakistan and India will face off in Dubai in this year´s Asia Cup, the ICC announced Tuesday. The 14th edition of the Asia Cup was initially supposed to be held in India but later it was moved to the United Arab Emirates because of strained relations between the two countries. The 13-match tournament (50-over ODI format) will gets underway on September 15 with Sri Lanka take on Bangladesh, the ICC said. Asia Cup 2016 to be held in Bangladesh

It has been confirmed - the next year’s Asia Cup will be scheduled in Bangladesh for the third consecutive time.  The T20 format tournament will feature India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and an associate nation, starting on February 24 and the final match to be held on March 6. "Pakistan raised the point that Bangladesh should host next year's Asia Cup and everyone agreed," BCB president Nazmul Hassan told reporters in Dhaka on Wednesday.  "Four Test nations will get direct entry while one Associate nation will come through the qualifying tournament. We also discussed whether there can be more cricket at the Under-19 level between the Asian countries.” Meanwhile, Afghanistan, Oman, Hong Kong and the UAE will compete to qualify for the Asia Cup as Associate nation. Moin Khan named Pakistan coach for Asia Cup and World T20

Pakistan Cricket Board appointed the former Pakistan's wicketkeeper Moin Khan as a new head coach of Pakistan cricket team for the forthcoming two big tournaments - Asia Cup and World T20 to be held in Bangladesh. Moin is set to replace Dav Whatmore, whose current contract with PCB expires this month and recently been replaced by Zakir Khan. In addition, PCB appointed the former fast bowler Mohammad Akram as a team's bowling coach on a two-year contract. Pakistan is currently sit on fifth, sixth and fourth position at the ICC rankings for Tests, ODIs and Twenty20 respectively. Following with these two above appointments by PCB will boost the ranking of Pakistan cricket team.

India Squad for Asia Cup 2014 in Bangladesh

Due to recent poor form, Left-handed middle-order batsman Suresh Raina and fast bowler Ishant Sharma both have been ruled out of Asia Cup squad starting on February 25 in Bangladesh. However, right-handed batsman Cheteshwar Pujara has been added to the Asia Cup squad. Pujara get his first ODI call since the tour to Zimbabwe on his ODI debut. Shoaib Malik , Adnan Akmal and Imran Farhat has been ruled out from the squad, whereas wicketkeeper Sarfraz Ahmed and Nasir Jamshed has been added in squad. Fast bowler Junaid Khan has not been selected due to his knee injury. Virat Kohli has been appointed as vice-captain for the Asia Cup , Indian selectors reported. Selectors has been given another chance to Sachin Tendulkar to play in Asia Cup despite his poor performance in the ongoing tri-series in Australia. Virender Sehwag and Zaheer Khan has been rested for the Asia cup starting from March 11 in Bangladesh. Yusuf Pathan and Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda both has been included in the 15-member squad. Yuvraj Singh ruled out for six months

Yuvraj Singh has been ruled out of cricket for six months due to the treatment of his lung tumour. He would not be available to play the Asia Cup and the IPL season 5 starts on April 4.
