Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi becomes leading wicket taker in T20 internationals

Pakistani all-rounder Shahid Afridi became the highest wicket-taker in the T20 internationals after taking a wicket of England’s James Vince during the 2nd T20 match in Dubai. The 35-year-old Twenty20 skipper has claimed 86 wickets in 86 games so far surpassing his team-mate Saeed Ajmal, who has captured 85 wickets for Pakistan in 64 t20 international matches. Pakistan: Shahid Afridi named Twenty20 skipper

The veteran all-rounder Shahid Afridi has been re-appointed captain of the Pakistan's Twenty20 squad until the 2016 World T20. The Pakistan Cricket Board announced. Pakistan ODI and T20 squads for the West Indies Tour

Pakistan's Right-handed batsman Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal have been selected to the ODI and T20 squads for the West Indies tour later on this month. The uncapped 21-year-old wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan , has been added to the squad as a backup of Akmal. Pakistan's Aggressive batsman Shahid Afridi has finally made a comeback to ODI squad for the series against South Africa that begins on March 10. Pakistan ODI and Twenty20 squad for the tour of India

Pakistan allrounder, Shahid Afridi has been ruled out from the ODI squad against India in December. However, Afridi retained in Twenty20 squad. Pakistan's chief selector Iqbal Qasim said, "Dropping Afridi was a difficult decision, He is no doubt a great player and has the ability to win a game, but the decision has been taken in the interest of the team. We did retain him in the T20 squad and if he performs well he can win back his ODI place in the future." Gayle, Afridi signs Sydney Thunder

Explosive batsman from West Indies Chris Gayle and Pakistan's all-rounder Shahid Afridi have signed for the Sydney Thunder in Twenty20 Big Bash league this summer. In last season, Gayle scored 252 runs at an average of 42 for the Thunder. Shane Duff , Coach of Sydney said, " along with (Australian test opener) David Warner, Chris Gayle is the best T20 player in the world. "

Shahid Afridi has been sold to the Dhaka franchise for $700,000 in an auction for Bangladesh Premier League (BPL)2012 tournament. But batsman Herschelle Gibbs and spinner Monty Panesar failed to attract bids in current BPL auction. Karachi, Monday, 7 November 2011 Former Pakistan's coach Waqar Younis has advised Shahid Afridi to keep his mouth shut and focus on Cricket. Waqar said in an interview to Geo News in Dubai " Afridi needs to rethink his priorities as a senior player. " Waqar said all the time he keeps criticizing and makes use of vulgar language. He just need to kept his mouth shut and concentrate on cricket. He said " To me it seems as if he always on the lookout for cheap publicity by making unwarranted and unhealthy comments about somebody or someone. "

Shahid Afridi and all-rounder Abdul Razzaq has been recalled to the ODI team against Sri Lanka to ODI series in UAE . Shahid Afridi U Turn from his decision of retirement

Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi announced his retirement from cricket since five months ago and now he said that he was ready to return in the Pakistan team. Afridi told reporters in Karachi, "I decided that I would like to play for Pakistan, I have never been ever retired from Cricket, but I said I don't want to play in the previous administration of PCB and now there is a new Chairman, so I decided to play again." Afridi announced his retirement to cricket in may, when ODI team captaincy was taken away from him at the time of Coach Waqar Younis .

Expert coaches to be appointed by the PCB - Afridi

Pakistan's former Captain Shahid Afridi , advised to Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) to appoint specialist coaches . Afridi said the Pakistan team needs an excellent Manager, under which coaches should work on bowling, fielding and batting. He added instead of assistant coach, PCB should also appoint manager.

Afridi is not worthy for captaincy - Ijaz Butt

Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Ijaz Butt made it clear that the former pakistan captain Shahid Afridi is not fit to captaincy. Butt's 'Geo Super' channel in an interview said, "As far as my opinion, Shahid Afridi is not fit for the captaincy to PCB. He said, "Some people believe my opinion wrong, but in the last two ODIs in the West Indies Afridi was responsible for losing.
