Younis Khan steps down as Pakistan's batting coach

Younis Khan resigned as Pakistan's batting coach on Tuesday (June 22) with immediate effect. The 43-year-old had a two-year contract with the PCB which would have ended after the conclusion of T20 World in 2022.  The announcement was followed by speculation that the former skipper himself had decided to step down from the position as he was not happy with his role. He began his coaching stint with the tour of New Zealand in 2020-21. Pakistan will now travel to their overseas tours of England and the West Indies without a batting coach. The team will be in England for three ODIs and three T20Is, while the West Indies tour is slated to begin on July 21 where the teams will play five T20Is and two Tests.

Due to the Covid, it is expected that the series will be without the spectators in the stadium. Also, the Indian cricketers will have to serve a seven-day quarantine period before they are allowed to practice inside the bio-secure environment.
