Twitter reacts as Australian batsman Phil Hughes in critical condition with head injury

The world of cricket were left shocked when Australia batsman Phil Hughes remains in critical condition after undergoing surgery on a head injury suffered during the Sheffield Shield match between New South Wales and South Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground. The 25-year-old left-hander collapsed at the SCG after after being hit by bouncer - a delivery from Sean Abbott. Australia: Watson ruled out of Zimbabwe tour with ankle injury

Australia’s all-rounder Shane Watson has been ruled out of the Zimbabwe tour due to an ankle injury, Cricket Australia said on Saturday. Watson picked up the injury after stepping on a ball during training session on Saturday. The 33-year-old will be replaced by top-order batsman Phillip Hughes in the 14-man squad. Injury-prone Watson confirmed on Twitter. Disappointed to roll my ankle at training today and now miss the Zimbabwe tour. Australia Test squad to face Sri Lanka

Phillip Hughes has been included in the Australia's first Test against Sri Lanka in Hobart. John Inverarity, the national selector, said " Phillip Hughes has been selected to fill the vacancy created by Ricky Ponting's retirement. " Hughes made his last Test century against Sri Lanka, in Colombo 2011. Phillip Hughes will join Worcestershire

Australian left-hander batsman, Phillip Hughes will join Worcestershire in June 2012 in county cricket . Hughes has had played with Middlesex in 2009 and Hampshire in 2010. Hughes said " I'm absolutely thrilled to be heading back to England, Worcestershire is a quality organisation and I can't wait to meet my new team-mates and re-acquaint myself with English conditions. My previous stint in England helped my batting enormously and I have high expectations that spending the 2012 Australian winter in the UK will do the same. "
