Cricket South Africa has appointed Haroon Lorgat as its new CEO. Gerald Majola, the previous CEO was sacked in last year due to the IPL bonus-payments controversy. " Mr. Lorgat's appointment follows a thorough and rigorous process to fill this important position, " CSA President Chris Nenzani said in a statement. "The quality of the candidates was exceptional and I would like to express my appreciation to the sub-committee of the Board as well as my colleagues on the Board who have brought this matter to a highly satisfactory conclusion."

South Africa great batsman Hashim Amla has been nominated for four Cricket South Africa (CSA) professional awards, to be announced here on July 3. Amla has been nominated for: The Test Cricketer of the Year. The One-Day International (ODI) Cricketer of the Year. The 'KFC So Good' award which is for a single outstanding achievement. These awards would cover the period from May 1, 2012 to April 30, 2013. List of nominees are: South African Cricketer of the Year : Hashim Amla, AB de Villiers, Faf du Plessis, Vernon Philander, Dale Steyn. South Africa cricket Test captain Graeme Smith has withdraw from the Champions League Twenty20 tournament due to his knee surgery. CSA said : Smith had an injury when he was playing for Pune Warriors in the IPL-4 in April and underwent a proper cartilage operation on Friday. Proteas team manager Mohammed Moosajee said "Although his rehabilitation period will be over by the time the Champions League commences, we feel that he will not ready at the time." "He will now in a guided rehabilitation process in the coming weeks and hopefully he'll recover in time for the start of a busy international summer cricket." The Proteas host Australia in three one-dayers, two Tests and two T20 from 13th October, followed by a three Test and five ODI series against Sri Lanka.
