Former New Zealand international, Scott Styris has re-signed Sussex as an overseas player for the 2013 Friends Life t20 season. The 37-year-old Styris, who has retired from international cricket after the 2011 World Cup. Styris said, " I'm delighted to sign this contract with Sussex, I thoroughly enjoyed my time with the team this year and feel we have unfinished business in this competition. I want to contribute next season so we can go all the way to securing the silverware." "We are all delighted at the prospect of having Scott back," Mark Robinson, the Sussex cricket manager, said. "His performances on and off the pitch obviously made him not only a crowd favourite but one within the whole club. "

Former New Zealand all-rounder Scott Styris has signed Hobart Hurricanes to play in Australia's Big Bash Twenty20. Styris said, " I'm enjoying my involvement in franchise T20 cricket around the world and have always enjoyed the challenge of playing in Australia against Australians. " The 37-year-old retired from international cricket last year after playing 29 Tests, 188 one-day internationals and 31 Twenty20 matches for New Zealand.

Wellington, 24 June 2011 All rounder, Scott Styris of New Zealand has announced his retirement from international cricket in his 12 year career. Styris had made his debut in International cricket in 1999 at India Tour.He had retired from Tests in 2008 Styris said that "I have thoroughly enjoyed representing my country, It has been an honour for me and a pleasure to play for New Zealand alongside so many quality players over the years and to have been a part of many key moments during that time. He Added “Not being on the international circuit means more time at home & I’m really looking forward to spending more time with my family.” Styris, who quits international cricket will continue to play in domestic matches and in Chennai Super Kings in IPL and play for Northern Knights in the HRV Cup later in New Zealand. He said I really do enjoy the T20 format game and see it as a way to stay involved in cricket for another year or two if I can.
