The veteran Australian cricketer Michael Klinger will retire from the Big Bash League (BBL) at the end of the season. The 38-year-old, who is currently the second highest run-scorer in the history of BBL, will officially finish up with the Perth Scorchers at the end of the ongoing season. Klinger has been an integral part of the Scorchers for a long time now. But the right-handed batsman endured his worst season this term, scoring just 115 runs in nine innings at a strike-rate of 83.33. However, he will be playing for Gloucestershire in the T20 Blast this year. It will be his seventh season with the county and has also been appointed the captain of the team. Klinger will be playing his last BBL game against the Melbourne Stars on Sunday night in front of a home crowd at Perth.

Perth Scorchers received huge boost over the top when Mitchell Marsh decided to continue his association with the club for the seventh edition of the Big Bash League. The 25-year-old, who was recently appointed Western Australia's new captain, is currently underwent a reconstruction of his right shoulder, but is set to return on the ground for the upcoming season of KFC Big Bash League, starting December 20. Australian spinner Brad Hogg has quit the Perth Scorchers after spending the glorious five year spell with the club and will start afresh with a different Big Bash League outfit. He is tipped to join the Melbourne Renegades. However, no official announcement has been announced from the club, but the Scorchers head coach Justin Langer confirmed that the 45-year-old was leaving the WACA Ground. Hogg has started his Big Bash career in 2011-12 season, since then has been a leading wicket taker with 46 wickets at 21.82. "Very disappointing," Langer told reporters. Pakistan all-rounder Yasir Arafat has signed Perth Scorchers for the Big Bash League. He will replace West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith, who will not be available to the entire Big Bash League due to his personal commitments. Arafat, 31, played his last game in September 2012 during the World Twenty20. He has also featured in domestic leagues of England, New Zealand, Bangladesh and Scotland. What Next? West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Smith has signed Perth Scorchers . He became the second international player for the Scorchers after South African bowler Alfonso Thomas in Big Bash League . The 30-year-old, Smith said: "I'm really happy to have signed with the Perth Scorchers. Perth is a beautiful city, so hopefully I can experience a bit of what it has to offer in between the cricket." Right-handed batsman, who has also featured in County Cricket for Sussex and in Indian Premier League for Mumbai Indians. He was a part of New South Wales in 2009-10 season of BBL. There is a bad news for Perth Scorchers fans out there, Fast bowler Alfonso Thomas will not be available for the Champions League as Somerset from the county have chosen to retain him for the ongoing season. Shaun Marsh has also been ruled out of the Champions League due to recently pulled up with a hamstring injury. Fast bowler Joe Mennie from South Australia will replace Alfonso Thomas, whereas Marcus North will replace Shaun Marsh. An Australian cricketer Shaun Marsh who plays for Kings XI Punjab in IPL is ready to join the squad. He passed a fitness test in Australia on Friday. Marsh had been recovering from an injury he picked while playing for Australia A in February. " I'm feeling fit and healthy so I can't wait to get back to playing cricket again and am really excited about the next five weeks in the IPL, " Marsh said in a media release issued by Perth Scorchers , his team in the Big Bash . Marsh's recovery will be a bounce back situation for Punjab. He is by far the best batsman in Kings XI Punjab's squad. Perth Scorchers have signed the South African allrounder Albie Morkel as the second overseas player for the Big Bash League 2012-13. The Scorchers also signed batsman Adam Voges from the Melbourne Stars and the wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt from Tasmania. The Scorchers coach, Lachlan Stevens said, " Obviously this list could change due to injuries, but it is very nice to have settled on the initial line-up, We can now focus on having the squad ready to go in December rather than having to fill places towards the back end, and we felt that was the way to go this season. "

Australian Fast bowler Mitchell Johnson has refused to play in big bash due to the busy schedule of the Australian cricket. Australia now have to go to Sri Lanka tour then South Africa tour after returning from South Africa, Australia will host New Zealand and India Series.
