IPL 2020: Ben Stokes set to join Rajasthan Royals

England all-rounder Ben Stokes is set to feature in the Indian Premier League after Rajasthan Royals indicated the Englishman is on his way to the UAE from New Zealand. The 29-year-old posted a picture with his family on Instagram with a caption, "goodbyes never get easier". According to the IPL rules, Stokes will have to undergo a six-day quarantine after his arrival to the UAE. He is likely to be available for the match against Delhi Capitals in Dubai on 14 October.

IPL auction: Ben Stokes signs £1.4m deal with Rajasthan Royals

England all-rounder Ben Stokes has been bought by Rajasthan Royals for whopping Rs 12.5 crore (£1.4m) in the first round of Indian Premier League's bidding. The 26-year-old fetched a massive price at the IPL auction once again and will join Australian skipper Steve Smith after the 28-year-old batsman went for £1.38m. South Africa's Hashim Amla, England's Joe Root and the hard-hitting West Indies batsman Chris Gayle went unsold in the first round of bidding of the much-awaited Indian Premier League (IPL) auction in Bengaluru. The second and final auction starts on Sunday, with a total of more than 500 players to be picked by the eight IPL franchises. The 11th edition of Indian Premier League begins in April.

IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). Kings XI Punjab unveiled their new logo for the fifth season of Indian Premier League , starting from April 4 in Chennai. Col Arvinder Singh said, " This new look logo is more vibrant, contemporary and user friendly. It embodies the essence of the ethos that Kings XI Punjab stands for. " The first match of Kings XI Punjab will start on April 6 against Rajasthan Royals .

Shane Watson Becomes Richest Cricketer in Australia

Melbourne, Wednesday, 14 December 2011 All rounder Shane Watson becomes the richest Australian cricketer with the Indian Premier League (IPL) money. According to the Business Review Weekly magazine , cricket has now emerged to the list of Top 50 Sports Earners of 2011. Shane watson is at 11th place in the rich list of Australian sports persons by earning USD 4 million. Watson earned USD 1.8 million in IPL, playing for Rajasthan Royals . He is one of the few players to play Test matches, ODI and T20 cricket.

New captain of Rajasthan Royals is Rahul Dravid

Experienced batsman Rahul dravid has created a new captain of the Rajasthan Royals team in Indian Premier League on Saturday. The Rajasthan Royals bought Dravid for $500,000 at auction. Shane Warne Bronze statue will be placed on MCG

Great spin bowler Shane Warne will be included in the ten great players whose bronze statue will be placed out of the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). Tait Put The Fastest Ball in IPL

Australian bowler Shaun Tait  has bowled the fastest ball in the history of Indian Premier League  and put his name on a double achievement. During Delhi Daredevils innings against Rajasthan Royals,  Tait put the fifth ball with a speed of 157.3 km per hour. It is believed that the ball is the fastest on earth. Official statistics recognize that Pakistan's Shoaib Akhtar put a speed of 161.3 km per hour against England in 2003. However it is believed that the Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Sami bowled speed of 164 km per hour during the a one-day match against India. Last year, Tait put the speed of 161.1 km per hour against England.
