Gloucestershire's T20 skipper Jack Taylor has committed his future to the county after signing a new one-year contract that promises to keep him at Bristol until the end of the 2022 season. The 28-year-old allrounder, who made his first-class debut for Gloucestershire over a decade ago, has scored 5,458 runs in all formats while picking up 130 wickets. He scored 130 runs at an average of 26 so far this season. Jack becomes the second player to have penned a contract extension this week following Ian Cockbain, who also signed on a two-year extension deal.

Gloucestershire spinner Tom Smith has committed his future to the club after signing a new two-year contract that promises to keep him at the Brightside Ground until the 2019 Championship season conclusion. The 30-year-old has been representing Glos since 2013 and was a regular in one-day cricket last season, featuring 19 games across the two competitions - the Vitality Blast and Royal London One-Day Cup. "I thoroughly enjoy my time at Gloucestershire," the left-arm orthodox spin bowler said . "The club's recruitment of Ryan Higgins, Daniel Worrall, Chris Rogers and AJ Tye shows its desire to push for honours and I'm really proud to be a part of that." Gloucestershire head-coach Richard Dawson added: "Tom has been an integral part of our squad since arriving at Gloucestershire so it's great that he has re-signed with us."

Gloucestershire have announced their second overseas acquisition by completing the signing of Australian batsman Peter Handscomb. The 23-year-old, who plays for the Melbourne Stars in the Big Bash League, will arrive at the County cricket ground for all three formats of the game. "It has always been an ambition of mine to play county cricket and I was delighted when Gloucestershire expressed an interest in me joining them," the former Australia Under-19 international told the club's official website . "I have heard good things about the players at Nevil Road and I am looking forward to meeting up with them in April." Peter will join the Gloucestershire with his new teammates in May.

Former England wicket-keeper Geraint Jones has joined Gloucestershire after signing a two-year deal with the club. The 38-year-old, who was part of the England team in Ashes 2005, has played 34 Tests and 49 ODIs for England. The Papua New Guinea-born right-handed batsman will replace the Australian opener Michael Klinger and will captain the side in the LV= County Championship next season. "I'd like to thank Kent for the fantastic 15 seasons I spent with them," Jones told the club's official website . "Following an enjoyable month with Gloucestershire during 2014, I am excited to be joining the club and for the challenges that lie ahead. "This is a young and talented squad and I relish the opportunity of working with them and to playing a part in their development.” Jones has scored 8,615 runs and took 586 catches and 36 stumpings in 193 first-class cricket. The South African batsman, Richard Levi has signed Northamptonshire for the Friends Life t20 competition that begins on June 26. Levi will join the squad in match against Gloucestershire on June 28.  Northamptonshire head coach, David Ripley said, " We are delighted to welcome Richard to the County Ground as he will add much needed firepower to the top of our order. " "His willingness to jump on a plane and get over here at very short notice is testament to his desire to play not just for us, but to try and force himself back into international contention - something we hope this stint at Northants (Northamptonshire) will help him achieve. "We are looking forward to Richard joining Cameron White here at the County Ground as we go all out for a place in the latter stages of the Friends Life t20."
