Bangladesh Premier League starts on February 9

Bangladesh Premier League (BPL), first edition will kick off on February 9, 2012 and final to be played on 29 February. Six teams will play each other twice in the 20-day tournament over 33 matches to be played in Chittagong and Dhaka. five foreign players to be allowed in their XIs Adam Gilchrist, Kieron Pollard, Mathew Hayden, Dwayne Bravo, James Anderson and Kamran Akmal are among foreign players who are available for the tournament so far.

Aaqib Javed is the new bowling coach for Pakistan

Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB ) has appointed former fast bowler Aaqib Javed as the bowling coach of the team just before the test series against England in UAE starts in January. Javed has been added in the nine-man support staff for the series. The former Pakistan batsman, Ijaz Ahmed , has been named as the fielding coach, while Mohsin Khan continue as the interim head coach.

Mahela Jayawardene 10,000 Scores in Tests

Pakistan Test Squad for England Series 2012 in UAE

Pakistan recall Umar Akmal to test squad, while former captain Shoaib Malik has not been selected for test series against England in the United Arab Emirates starting from 17 Jan in Dubai. Dav Whatmore to coach Pakistan team

Pakistan Cricket Board said Dav Whatmore , former World Cup winning Sri Lanka coach has been finalise his appointment as head coach of Pakistan team. Pakistan team was without a full time coach since when Waqar Younis left the position of coach in September. Subhan Ahmed , PCB chief operating officer said to local media " We are in the process of finalising the appointment and in this regard are in discussions with Whatmore ". Whatmore will reach Pakistan in second week of January , he added. Mohsin Khan has been retained for next month series against England in the UAE as an interim coach .

Matthew Hayden may retire after Big Bash

Tim Paine would not be able to play first class cricket

The coach of South Australia, Darren Berry believes that the after the serious injury in finger, wicketkeeper batsman Tim Paine now maybe ever would not play cricket again. Berry said his meeting with the Paine was in Hobart, in the meantime he saw the injury in his finger. Melbourne, Wednesday, 14 December 2011 All rounder Shane Watson becomes the richest Australian cricketer with the Indian Premier League (IPL) money. According to the Business Review Weekly magazine , cricket has now emerged to the list of Top 50 Sports Earners of 2011. Shane watson is at 11th place in the rich list of Australian sports persons by earning USD 4 million. Watson earned USD 1.8 million in IPL, playing for Rajasthan Royals . He is one of the few players to play Test matches, ODI and T20 cricket.

Phillip Hughes will join Worcestershire

Australian left-hander batsman, Phillip Hughes will join Worcestershire in June 2012 in county cricket . Hughes has had played with Middlesex in 2009 and Hampshire in 2010. Hughes said " I'm absolutely thrilled to be heading back to England, Worcestershire is a quality organisation and I can't wait to meet my new team-mates and re-acquaint myself with English conditions. Daniel Vettori out for up to a month

New Zealand's all rounder player Daniel Vettori has been away from New Zealand cricket for a month due to his hamstring injury. New Zealand team Physio Paul Close said in a statement " Dan sustained a recurrence of his left hamstring injury that's been problematic for him over the last few years. " " We expect him to be rehabbing the injury and back to full fitness within three to four weeks. We are confident he will be back to play some cricket at some stage in the New Year ," He added.

Pakistan Cricket Board ( PCB ) once again supported the use of the review system ( UDRS ). Announced that the UDRS will be used in ODI and test series against England in next month. Pakistan to play three test and ODI series against England in UAE starting from 17th Jan.

76 matches will be played in IPL 5, auctions in Jan

Indian Premier League for the fifth tournament, auctions will be start at the end of January or at the beginning of February. For each IPL franchises get cap of $2 million to spend on players. The players of the Kochi Tuskers Kerala franchise will be part of the auction, which was terminated by BCCI earlier in this year. The IPL Governing council increased the number of players from 30 to 33 in each team. In IPL-5, foreign players will be 11 instead of 10 for each team. However, two more Indian players can be included to each team's roster. The IPL-5 season will start on April 4 in Chennai and the final will also be played in Chennai on May 27, 2012. There will be an additional four play-off matches, in Bangalore and Chennai.

Vinay to replace Aaron for Australia tour

Injured fast bowler Varun Aaron has been replaced by Vinay Kumar in Indian team for the Australia tour. Due to a  rib injury during a Ranji Trophy match, Praveen Kumar also been replaced by Abhimanyu Mithun . The 27-year-old Vinay Kumar has played many ODI but didn't get a chance to play test match.

New captain of Rajasthan Royals is Rahul Dravid

Experienced batsman Rahul dravid has created a new captain of the Rajasthan Royals team in Indian Premier League on Saturday. The Rajasthan Royals bought Dravid for $500,000 at auction. Mitchell Johnson out for six months

Australian fast bowler, Mitchell Johnson has been ruled out of all formats of cricket for five to six months due to undergoing surgery of his left foot on the toe at Melbourne . Doctor Trefor James of Cricket Australia said, " I would expect Mitchell to be able to return to cricket in five to six months. "
