Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has announced his retirement from T20 cricket after the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Kings XI Punjab in their last league match of IPL 2020.  The 39-year-old was a bit on and off feature of the MS Dhoni-led CSK squad in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL). The Aussie star has played 11 games in the ongoing IPL season and scored 299 runs with an average of 29.90. 

Indian veteran off-spinner Harbhajan Singh has withdrawn himself from the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) citing personal reasons. The 40-years-old is the second Chennai Super Kings player after Suresh Raina to pull out of IPL 2020. Singh was earlier expected to join the franchise on September 1, but the veteran off-spinner has decided to skip the mega-rich tournament due to personal reasons. The IPL scheduled to be played from September 19 to November 10 in the UAE.

New Zealand all-rounder Scott Kuggeleijn will join Indian Premier League outfit Chennai Super Kings, replacing injured South African seamer Lungi Ngidi, who has been ruled out of the rest of the tournament. Kuggeleijn, 27, made his T20 debut for Black Caps this year, having first played One-Day International two years ago. The controversial kiwi has faced two trials over charges of raping a woman in 2015. But his selection in the national team this year was highly shocking as a result, and he faced a hostile welcome from fans and commentators. Kuggeleijn is expected to join the defending champions next week. Super Kings are currently 2nd in the league table, behind Kolkata Knight Riders.

England wicket-keeper batsman Sam Billings has expressed his happiness after being retained by the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) for the next season. Billings though did not play well in the previous season, scoring just 108 in 10 fixtures, but Chennai outfit have clearly chosen to invest more time in the talented batsman and retained him for the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League, starting in March 2019.

Good news for Pune and Chennai residents as the IPL Governing Council have announced that Pune and Chennai stadiums have been included to the list of host venues for the eighth season of Indian Premier League after having missed out in 2014 due to valid reasons. The 2015 Indian Premier League games will get underway on April 8, and the final match to be played on May 24, The IPL governing council have also announced the dates for the next two seasons.  The 2016 edition will be played between Apr 8-May 29, while the 2017 edition will commence on Apr 5-May 21.

The middle-order batsman Suresh Raina scored an unbeaten 109 in just 62 balls in the Champions League T20 (CLT20) finals against the reigning IPL Champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Raina, 27, came into bat when Chennai Super Kings were trailing at 9 runs but with his outstanding performance powered Chennai to an eight-wicket win. The victory brings CSK their second CLT20 title. Champions League Twenty-20 cricket tournaments assigned to India and matches will begin from 23 september to 9 October, all matches will be played at Bangalore, Chennai and Kolkata. 13 teams will be played in the league but the main tournament will played between 10 teams.Tournament will be played on the basis of the previous version. In India, the first edition of the Champions League title was won by New South Wales Blues .Whereas the second edition that was played in South Africa won by Chennai Super Kings . The opening match of the tournament will be played in Bangalore on September 23.The semi-finals will be played in Chennai and Bangalore and the final match will be played at Chennai, on October 9.

Chennai Super Kings captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni, the second time IPL champions. After beating the royal challengers banglore by 58 runs, Dhoni said both victory are special,the last time we struggled to reach the semifinals but this time we had reached playoff with ease. He said i am also happy that we have also got Fairplay Award . People say that you will have to play hard cricket but we also showed that you can win with Fair Play.
