Mumbai Indians keen on signing Shikhar Dhawan

The Indian Premier League champions Mumbai Indians have emerged as rumoured suitors for Sunrisers Hyderabad batsman Shikhar Dhawan, according to Mumbai Mirror . It is understood that if the negotiations between the two parties goes well, the 32-year-old batsman could open for Mumbai Indians in the next season of IPL. The report claims that the left-handed batsman is not happy with the Sunrisers and has expressed his desire to look somewhere else. Although his contract with the franchise is valid for three years. CLT20: Malinga chooses Mumbai Indians over Southern Express

Sri Lanka ’s fast bowler Lasith Malinga has chosen to play for Indian Premier League side Mumbai Indians over his home team - the Southern Express at the Champions League T20, scheduled to be played in September. According to a player’s contract, the individuals can choose which team they would want to represent in T20 tournament. The 30-year-old has been part of the Mumbai Indians since 2009, has played 10 matches and took 16 wickets for the Mumbai Indians in the most recent season of Indian Premier League ‘season7’. The CLT20 will be played in India, starting on September 7.

Tendulkar retires from IPL

Mumbai Indians batsman Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from IPL cricket after winning their first IPL title. He played his last IPL in a league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad . " This is my last IPL, " Tendulkar announced casually during an interview with Harsha Bhogle on the ground after the win. " This has been a fantastic season. I thought our third IPL season was the best before this. "I think this is the right time to stop playing the IPL. I am 40. Got to accept it. I had decided this was my last season. " In his 78 matches of IPL career, Tendulkar scored 2334 runs that includes one century and 13 half-centuries.

IPL - Chennai Super Kings enter Fifth Final

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) demolished Mumbai Indians by 48 runs and enters directly into the final of the Indian premier league season 6 . In first innings, CSK put total of 191 for 1 on the boards, unfortunately Mumbai Indians folded up for 144 though MI will get another chance to get into the finals when they face-off against the losers of the second play-off match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on 24 May 2013. For CSK, Michael Hussey scored 86 runs in just 58 balls and Suresh Raina scored 82 runs in 42 balls both on an unbeaten 140–run stand for the second wicket. Mitchell Johnson ruled out of IPL 2012

The Australian allrounder, Mitchell Johnson has been ruled out of IPL 2012 as he has not yet recovered from his big toe surgery. In the February player auction, Mumbai Indians bought him by $300,000. Earlier at this month, Durham signed Johnson for the 2012 Friends Life t20 competition.

Andrew Symonds said goodbye to cricket

Former Australian great all-rounder Andrew Symonds has took retirement from all forms of cricket. He will not play IPL-5 for Mumbai Indians as he was quitting competitive cricket and for the birth of his first child. Symonds said, " Effective immediately, I am retiring from all forms of professional cricket. It is with regret that I will not be able to fulfil my final year of the IPL with the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians and the IPL have both been very supportive of me, but the impending arrival of my first child is a priority. Pragyan Ojha to play for Mumbai Indians in IPL5

Left arm spinner Pragyan Ojha will play for Mumbai Indians in the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL5). Earlier he was the part of Deccan chargers from Hyderabad. Ojha so far in 56 matches took 62 wickets with an average of 22.19 in IPL.
