Yorkshire have announced the signing of Sri Lanka left-handed batsman Dimuth Karunaratne. The 33-year-old has joined the county outfit for the next three Championship matches. He will debut on Thursday against Northamptonshire at Wantage Road. The Lankan skipper will also play games against Kent at Headingley and Essex at Chelmsford. Karunaratne has scored 5,620 runs in 76 Tests for Sri Lanka. Yorkshire right​-arm spinner Jack Shutt has committed himself to the White Rose after signing a new one-year contract extension that will keep him at the club until at least the end of 2021. The 23-year-old all-rounder said: “I’m very pleased. I’ve played a little bit of first team cricket now and I feel like I’ve learnt a lot. I know what the level is that I need to get to, and hopefully I can improve my game going forward so that I can do well at that level. “The only way that you can learn is by playing and being around players of that quality, so hopefully this summer will really stand me in good stead going forward.” The youngster made his first-class debut against Durham last term and since gone on to play in three of the fixtures. The Yorkshire CCC have released left-arm spinner James Logan following the end of his contract at Emerald Headingley. The 22-year-old, who made his debut against Worcestershire in 2018, has played just two first-class matches for the White Rose but was inactive in 2020. Logan said : “I’ve really enjoyed my time at Yorkshire and would like to thank all the coaches who have worked with me since I started at the age of 11, and the players who I’ve shared a dressing room with." England leg-spinner Adil Rashid has agreed a new one-year contract to play in all formats for Yorkshire in 2019. The 30-year-old had been on a limited-overs-only deal at the start of the year. Rashid's future at Headingley had been in doubt after he was selected in England's Test squad for the recent series against India. The Yorkshire County Cricket Club have announced as their overseas signings of two Australian internationals Aaron Finch and Glenn Maxwell for the up-coming season. The 28-year-old Finch, who is currently the Australia's T20 captain - will be available in all forms of cricket when he returns from the Indian Premier League stint with Sunrisers Hyderabad in May. While, the 26 year old Maxwell will only available in the NatWest T20 Blast after his IPL campaign with Kings XI Punjab. Finch has scored five centuries in 40 ODIs for his country and averaged 48.50 for Yorkshire in last season. New Zealand international Kane Williamson, 23, has signed Yorkshire for the 2014 season. previously Kane who joined Yorkshire in august  for the last five games of the County Championship . The director of Yorkshire's cricket, Martyn Moxon said, " It is great news to have Kane on board for next season, He has settled in well and is a popular member of the dressing room. Yorkshire have confirmed the signing of New Zealand batsman Kane Williamson for the last five games of the County Championship . Williamson is likely to be available for the match against Nottinghamshire on August 21 at Trent Bridge, and will remain with the team until the end of the season. Yorkshire are currently leading Division One with 158 points from 11 games. Williamson, a regular player in New Zealand's Test side over the past three years, has played 25 Tests and scored 1385 runs at an average of 31.47. He also has previous county experience with Gloucestershire as an overseas player in 2011 and 2012. England international bowler Liam Plunkett has joined Yorkshire from Durham on a three-year deal for the County Championship Division One next season. The 27-year-old has played nine Tests, 21 One-Day Internationals in his career. Former England paceman Stephen Harmison has signed Yorkshire . The 33-year-old has played 63 Tests and 58 one-day internationals in his career. Jason Gillespie , the former Australian fast bowler has been appointed as the new coach of Yorkshire on a two-year term, said English county . Gillespie played for county from 2006 to 2007. He also spent time as a bowling coach in the IPL with Kings XI Punjab and Australia A including with Zimbabwe domestic team MidWest Rhinos . In his test career between 1996 to 2006, He played 71 test matches and took 259 wickets.

The Yorkshire all-rounder Tim Bresnan will be available for the first match against Sri Lanka at the Oval, in the five-match series. Bresnan could not play in the Twenty20 and  three-match Test series against Sri Lanka due to injury.
