Caribbean Premier League: Mohammad Amir to make his debut for Barbados Tridents

Former Pakistan seamer Mohammad Amir is ready to make his debut in the latest edition of the Caribbean Premier League, starting from August 28. The 29-year-old announced his retirement from international cricket in December last year, owing to his feud with Pakistan’s team management. The veteran speedster continues to feature in the various T20 leagues across the globe. He will now be available in the Caribbean Premier League as the left-arm pacer has been signed by Barbados Tridents for the ninth edition that kicks off in St Kitts & Nevis in August 2021.  Amir has claimed 59 wickets in 50 T20I for Pakistan.

BCCI postpones IPL 2021

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has unanimously decided to postpone the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 season, with immediate effect. Following the recent Covid-19 scare, BCCI met IPL Governing Council on Tuesday in a meeting to announce the suspension of the tournament for indefinite period. “The BCCI does not want to compromise on the safety of the players, support staff and the other participants involved in organising the IPL. This decision was taken keeping the safety, health and wellbeing of all the stakeholders in mind,” the BCCI said in a press-release . It all started when the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) players Varun Chakravarthy and Sandeep Warrier both were tested positive for the novel strain.  The latest victims of the virus have been Sunrisers Hyderabad’s Wriddhiman Saha, Delhi Capitals’ Amit Mishra and Chennai Super Kings's bowling coach L Balaji.
