The Pakistani-born Australia Test batsman Usman Khawaja has joined Lancashire as their overseas player until the end of the season, Lancs confirmed on their official website . Khawaja, 27, likely to arrive at Old Trafford next week and will be available for all three forms of the game. The left-hander previously played for Derbyshire in county cricket between 2011 and 2012. "This is a great opportunity for me and a challenge I am really looking forward to getting stuck into," said the Aussie , who is expected to make his debut against Leicestershire on June 13. Khawaja has scored 4979 runs at an 41.14 average in 78 first-class matches including 12 centuries.

Lancashire have signed England's right-handed batsman-wicketkeeper Jos Buttler from Somerset . The 23-year-old, Buttler leave Somerset to pursue more opportunities as a wicketkeeper-batsman at Lancashire. As a wicketkeeper the first choice of Somerset is Craig Kieswetter and with lesser opportunities on his way, Buttler made a swoop to Lancashire. Buttler said  " They have a strong squad and are very ambitious to build on this season's achievement. The club has an exceptional coaching staff which will help me to continue to develop as a keeper batsman. " Buttler made made ODI debut in February 2012 and has played 19 games since then. In just 25 T20Is, Buttler has scored 286 runs.

Zimbabwe fast bowler Kyle Jarvis , who recently announced his retirement from international cricket , has now signed Lancashire on a three-year-deal. " I am delighted to be joining Lancashire on a three-year contract, as playing county cricket has been an ambition of mine for a number of years and the opportunity to forge a career in England was one that was too good to miss, " Jarvis said. The 24-year-old, Jarvis made his international debut in 2009, played 24 ODIs, took 27 wickets at an average of 45.22.

New Zealand fast bowler Mitchell McClenaghan has signed Lancashire for their Friends Life t20 campaign later this month. McClenaghan became the Lancashire's second overseas player after Australia's Simon Katich. McClenaghan is excited and he is looking forward to play county cricket . The former Lancashire right hander batsman, Harry Pilling has died at the age of 69. His career for the county from 1962 to 1980. In his first-class cricket career, in 333 matches Pilling made 15,279 runs with 25 hundred at 32.23 Jim Cumbes the Lancashire's outgoing chief executive said: " We are greatly saddened to hear about Harry's passing. He was a stalwart of the Lancashire side in the 1960s and 1970s and was a key member of the successful one-day teams from that era. "

England fast bowler James Anderson has signed a new two-year contract with Lancashire . The 30-year-old Anderson, made his Lancashire debut in 2002. Anderson said, " I always love coming back to play for the club when my England duties permit me to and I'm delighted to sign for another two years. "

Pakistan's left-arm fast bowler, Junaid Khan has received a no-objection certificate from PCB, and made a return to Lancashire for Friends Life t20. The PCB has given NOC to the bowler just for the Friends Life Twenty20 tournament. The Lancashire head coach, Peter Moores said, " Junaid showed last season his ability to win a game from almost any situation. His strength at bowling in Powerplays and at the end of the innings in one-day cricket adds another dimension to the squad and it will be great to have him back. "
