Australia's allrounder Shane Watson retires

Australia all-rounder Shane Watson has announced his retirement from T20 cricket after the three-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) thrashed Kings XI Punjab in their last league match of IPL 2020. 

The 39-year-old was a bit on and off feature of the MS Dhoni-led CSK squad in the 13th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL).

The Aussie star has played 11 games in the ongoing IPL season and scored 299 runs with an average of 29.90.

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
