Gilchrist Sign Caribbean Premier League


The former Australian wicketkeeper Adam Gilchrist is the second international franchise player, after Ricky Ponting, to play with the newly formed Caribbean Premier League (CPL).


Gilchrist said, "The CPL will feature some of the world's best cricketers, and I can't wait to test my skills and play in what is going to be a dynamic and exciting competition, I have fond memories of playing cricket in the Caribbean. Plus, I love playing the Twenty20 format, and there is absolutely no better place anywhere to do this than the West Indies."

The CPL will begin on July 29, and conclude on August 26.

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
