Kevin Pietersen to play Caribbean Premier League

Former England all-rounder Kevin Pietersen is all set to take part in the Caribbean Premier League Twenty20, takes place in July and August this year, according to reports from BBC . Pietersen, 33, has confirmed the news on his Twitter account: Delighted to enter the Draft for @CPL_T20 next week. Indian Premier League 7 Schedule (First Leg - UAE) 2014

The first leg of Indian Premier League -7 (The Initial phase) will be played in the United Arab Emirates, starting on April 16 to June 1. The Opening ceremony of IPL 2014 season 7 will be held at Abu Dhabi on 15th April. Luke Wright ruled out of World T20, Craig Kieswetter joins squad

England and Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has been ruled out of the ongoing World Twenty20 tournament due to a side strain, ICC Cricket announced. Wright, 29, expressed his disappointment on Twitter : Absolutely gutted to be leaving the World Cup injured. Durham sign Australian all-rounder John Hastings

Australian all-rounder John Hastings has signed defending county champions Durham as an overseas player for the 2014 season in this summer. He will be a strong addition with the red and white ball and we look forward to welcoming him to Durham." Hastings, nicknamed as "Duke" will arrive the Chester-le-Street once his IPL stint with Chennai Super Kings has concluded in June.

Warwickshire sign Pakistan allrounder Shoaib Malik

Malik has played 55 T20 internationals, 216 ODI's and 32 Tests for his county.

Joe Root to miss T20 World Cup

England batsman Joe Root has been sidelined of World T20 with a fractured thumb injury, reports ESPN . The 23-year-old right-handed batsman picked up the injury during the final ODI win over the West Indies in Antigua last Wednesday. Root tweeted : Bitterly disappointed I'm unable to make the World Cup! Want to wish the boys the best of luck and have every confidence in the whole squad. — Joe Root (@joeroot05) March 10, 2014 Ian Bell has been called up to the England's World T20 squad and has been approved by ICC as his replacement. Bell played his last T20Is against Australia in Melbourne in January 2011. In his T20 career, he has played seven T20 with an average 29.16. England to play their first Twenty20 World Cup match against New Zealand on March 22 at Chittagong.

Paul Collingwood: I'm determined to play for Durham

Durham skipper, Paul Collingwood has stated that he wants to play for Durham this season after the possibility of getting an England coaching job on a full-time basis, according to reports from Sky Sports . Collingwood, 37, who is currently working as a temporary assistant with Ashley Giles and assures that it will not abandon his County duties this summer. "I'm determined to play for Durham this summer, " The former England all-rounder told reporters. "Durham are down to the bare bones in terms of personnel, so to lose a captain would be a bit harsh at the last second." There are such rumours, that Collingwood could be seen as a new head coach of England's national team just after the Twenty20 World Cup.

South Africa: Graeme Smith to Retire from international cricket

South Africa ’s test skipper, Graeme Smith is all set to retire from international cricket after the end of the final Test against Australia in Cape Town.   The 33-year-old left handed batsman has played 33 Twenty20 internationals, 197 one-day internationals and currently playing his 117th Test match with total 9262 runs an average of 48.49. Smith said in an interview after the third day's play at Newlands, "This has been the most difficult decision I have ever had to make in my life. It's a decision that I have been considering since my ankle surgery in April last year. I have a young family to consider, and I felt that retiring at Newlands would be the best way to end it because I have called this place home since I was 18 years-old." During his captaincy, South Africa became the No.1 Test side in ICC’s rankings in 2012. However, Smith still continue to play for Surrey in County Cricket .

The Right-handed batsman Ian Bell has been added to the England 's T20 squad for the three-match series in West Indies , staring in Barbados on 9 March. The 31-year-old Warwickshire batsman has played seven T20's with an average of 29.16 for his country. However, Ian Bell was not selected in the upcoming ICC World Twenty20 .
