Luke Wright ruled out of World T20, Craig Kieswetter joins squad

England and Sussex all-rounder Luke Wright has been ruled out of the ongoing World Twenty20 tournament due to a side strain, ICC Cricket announced.


Wright, 29, expressed his disappointment on Twitter:
The Somerset batsman - Craig Kieswetter is set to join the squad as Wright's replacement.

Kieswetter, 26, played 25 T20Is for England with a strike rate of 111.91.

England suffered major blow in this term, with Ben Stokes and Joe Root have both been sidelined with injuries.

England to play their next group match against Sri Lanka on Thursday, Mar 27 at Zohur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong.

The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
