England to host World Cup 2019

Here at Dubai, The ICC and ECB have signed the agreement to host the 2019 World Cup in England and Wales. The tournament is expected to be played at 10 venues, throughout the june 2019 with 10 teams only. The 1999 world cup was hosted in the England . The 2004 Champions Trophy and second edition of the World Twenty20, in 2009, were also staged in the UK. ICC Chief Executive David Richardson added: " The World Cup attracts a broadcast audience in excess of 1.5 billion people and is one of the premier events in world cricket. England and Wales boasts a number of high quality cricket venues providing players, officials and spectators with excellent facilities. We look forward to working with the ECB to deliver an outstanding tournament. "

Tendulkar retires from IPL

Mumbai Indians batsman Sachin Tendulkar announced his retirement from IPL cricket after winning their first IPL title. He played his last IPL in a league match against Sunrisers Hyderabad . " This is my last IPL, " Tendulkar announced casually during an interview with Harsha Bhogle on the ground after the win. " This has been a fantastic season. I thought our third IPL season was the best before this. "I think this is the right time to stop playing the IPL. I am 40. Got to accept it. I had decided this was my last season. " In his 78 matches of IPL career, Tendulkar scored 2334 runs that includes one century and 13 half-centuries.

Asad Rauf not in Champions Trophy 2013

Pakistan umpire Asad Rauf has been withdrawn by the ICC from the upcoming Champions Trophy in England. As per the media reports, " he was under investigation by Mumbai Police. " The Champions Trophy 2013, has been touted to be the last one and would be hosted by England from June 2013. " In the wake of reports that the Mumbai Police are conducting an investigation into Asad Rauf's activities, we feel that it is in Asad's best interests as well as those of the sport and the event itself, that he is withdrawn from participating in the ICC Champions Trophy, " Dave Richardson, the ICC chief executive, said in a statement on Thursday. IPL - Chennai Super Kings enter Fifth Final

Chennai Super Kings (CSK) demolished Mumbai Indians by 48 runs and enters directly into the final of the Indian premier league season 6 . In first innings, CSK put total of 191 for 1 on the boards, unfortunately Mumbai Indians folded up for 144 though MI will get another chance to get into the finals when they face-off against the losers of the second play-off match between Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals on 24 May 2013. For CSK, Michael Hussey scored 86 runs in just 58 balls and Suresh Raina scored 82 runs in 42 balls both on an unbeaten 140–run stand for the second wicket. Preview of the ICC Champions Trophy 2013

Soon it is time for the very last ICC Champions Trophy, as the ICC has deemed it unnecessary to have so many tournaments each year, and would like to trim the amount down. This should put no damper on the excitement for this year’s event as those who love one day international cricket tournaments are in for a treat. The field this year is closer in terms of roster strength and their chances of winning this tournament is very close. It is looking to become a great tournament. James Anderson claims 300th Test wicket

England fast bowler James Anderson claimed his 300th Test wicket during the second day of the first Test against New Zealand at Lord's on Friday. Anderson in his first over dismissed the opener batsman Hamish Rutherford caught by Alastair Cook at first slip. Anderson, 30, became the fourth Englad cricketer to take 300 Test wickets, The first three are Ian Botham, Bob Willis and Fred Trueman. " He's in the 300 club and I fully expect him to go on and make the 400 club, " Botham said in commentary for Sky Sports. "It's great for Jimmy but there's a lot more to come. Adam Gilchrist retires from IPL

Adam Gilchrist , the captain of Kings XI Punjab has announced his retirement from the Indian Premier League (IPL) after playing his final game against Mumbai Indians at Dharamsala. " This definitely is my last game, " Gilchrist said at the toss. Due to poor form, the left-hander had only 1 half century in this tournament, IPL 6 and he admit poor form and his side's dwindling fortunes in the tournament. IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy). Sohail Tanvir joins Hampshire for T20

The Pakistan allrounder, Sohail Tanvir is set to join Hampshire from May 23 until the end of the group matches of the Friends Life t20 . Tanvir will join Australia's George Bailey as a second overseas player. Tanvir, 28, was in the 30-man preliminarily squad for the Champions Trophy 2013 but failed to get a place in the final 15 member squad. Umran Khan, Tanvir's agent said, " Tanvir will be playing for Hampshire until the end of the T20 competition, It's a full contract with an understanding to play from May 23 that includes all the formats. He has already applied for a visa. " " Initially I am looking at the end of the T20 group stage ," Tanvir said. Matt Prior wins England player of the year 2013

A wicket-keeper & batsman Matt Prior has been named the England cricketer-of-the-year for 2012/13. " It was fantastic when I found out, a huge honour to be singled out as player of the year, " said Prior, the first wicket-keeper to win the award. " I feel slightly uncomfortable with it, because individual accolades are not really the reason I play. "I want this team to win. Russell Domingo South Africa new coach

Russell Domingo has been named the as the new coach of South Africa 's cricket team on a two-year deal. Domingo, 38, will be on a two-year contract from August 1, 2013 and he will start his tenure with a limited overs series in Sri Lanka in July and August. Domingo said, " It's a massive day in my life after two wonderful years already with the national team. "I've learned a great deal from Gary Kirsten and (bowling coach) Allan Donald and hopefully I can take the team up another level, " he told a media conference on Saturday. " I'm looking for continuity and to enhance the structures so that we can continue to be the best in the world." Dwayne Smith re-signed Sussex for T20

West Indies allrounder Dwayne Smith has been re-signed by Sussex for the Friends Life t20 . Smith help Sussex to victory in the 2009 Twenty20 Cup final by hitting 59 from 26 balls. Smith, 30, is currently playing for Mumbai Indians in the IPL -6. " I'm very happy to be joining Sussex again, " Smith said. " I can't wait to get back to my second home and the lovely crowd at Hove. Muralitharan signs for Caribbean Premier League

Former Sri Lankan spin bowler Muttiah Muralitharan has been confirmed as the sixth international franchise player for Caribbean Premier League (CPL).
