Albie Morkel signs Perth Scorchers


Perth Scorchers have signed the South African allrounder Albie Morkel as the second overseas player for the Big Bash League 2012-13. The Scorchers also signed batsman Adam Voges from the Melbourne Stars and the wicketkeeper Tom Triffitt from Tasmania.


The Scorchers coach, Lachlan Stevens said, "Obviously this list could change due to injuries, but it is very nice to have settled on the initial line-up, We can now focus on having the squad ready to go in December rather than having to fill places towards the back end, and we felt that was the way to go this season."

Ricky Ponting is reportedly close to signing a deal with Punjab Kings ahead of IPL 2025, as per Cricbuzz.
