Mitchell Marsh stays with Scorchers in BBL|07

Perth Scorchers received huge boost over the top when Mitchell Marsh decided to continue his association with the club for the seventh edition of the Big Bash League.

The 25-year-old, who was recently appointed Western Australia's new captain, is currently underwent a reconstruction of his right shoulder, but is set to return on the ground for the upcoming season of KFC Big Bash League, starting December 20.


"I literally cannot wait for Big Bash to start," the all-rounder told perthscorchers.com.au on Sunday (September 17). "My body and shoulder feel really good, I've been taking it slowly but ticking all the right boxes so it'll be good to get back out there.

"The BBL has grown into an amazing tournament. Playing with the Scorchers for the last six years, we've had some awesome success and we're hoping we can maintain that winning culture this summer, too."

The Australia international, who made his Test debut against Pakistan in 2014, and has since gone on to make 21 Tests for his country, averaging 21.74 with the bat and 37.48 with the ball.

Marsh is expected to make a return as batsman in the early part of the domestic season.

IPL Spot-fixing, Sreesanth and 2 other Rajasthan Royals players held

Three Rajasthan Royals players, Sreesanth , Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan were arrested on Thursday for their alleged involvement in spot-fixing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) season 6. The trio allegedly received upto Rs 60 lakh for conceding runs in a pre-determined over from bookies with possible Mumbai underworld links. The special cell of the Delhi Police arrested Sreesanth and his teammates — Ajit Chandila and Ankeet Chavan — in Mumbai early this morning for indulging in spot-fixing in at least three IPL matches on May 5, 9 and 15. Eleven bookies have also been arrested from Delhi, Mumbai and Ahmedabad. The police are on the look-out for two more bookies. A Delhi court has sent the three players and all bookies to five-day police custody. The players, who have been suspended by the BCCI, have been brought to Delhi and charged under Section 420 (cheating) and 120-B (criminal conspiracy).
