Chris Lynn joins Northamptonshire for T20 Blast

Northamptonshire have signed the Australian batsman Chris Lynn for the T20 Blast this season.

The 32-year-old, who has established a reputation as one of the hardest hitters in the T20 format, has never previously played in the county cricket.

"I have always wanted to play county cricket and I'm really looking forward to joining up with Northamptonshire for the Vitality Blast," said Lynn.

"The UK is a great place to play, and I am hopeful that I can contribute with some good performances and also try to entertain the Steelback fans this summer."

Lynn joins NZ allrounder Jimmy Neesham as Northamptonshire's second overseas player for the competition.

Sri Lanka have announced a 16-man squad for the one-day and Twenty20 matches against Australia. The one-day series will be held from from January 11-23 across Australia, and the two T20 internationals will be played in Sydney on January 26 and Melbourne on January 28.
