World Test Championship 2023 final venue and dates confirmed by ICC

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has announced the schedule and location for the final match of the 2021-23 World Test Championship. India and Australia are considered to be the top contenders to face each other in the championship decider.

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has officially confirmed the schedule and location for the 2023 World Test Championship (WTC) final.

The final match of the 2021-23 World Test Championship cycle will take place at The Oval in London, running from June 7th to 11th, with a reserve day set for June 12th. 

The first edition of the WTC was won by New Zealand, who defeated India by eight wickets in the 2021 final at the Rose Bowl in Southampton.

At the moment, the two top teams competing for the final match of the World Test Championship (WTC) are Australia and India. Australia currently leads the 2021-23 WTC points table with 136 points and a win percentage of 75.56. India follows close behind with 99 points and a win percentage of 58.93. Both teams are playing in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy with the ultimate goal of securing a spot in the WTC final.

Sri Lanka and South Africa, currently in the third and fourth positions with win percentages of 53.33% and 48.72% respectively, still have a shot at playing in the final match of the World Test Championship. Sri Lanka has two remaining away Tests against New Zealand, while South Africa's final assignment is a two-match series at home against the West Indies.

2nd Test: Johannesburg, March 8th to 12th

New Zealand vs Sri Lanka Series Schedule:

1st Test: Christchurch, March 9th to 13th

2nd Test: Wellington, March 17th to 21st

IPL 2023: Jason Roy joins Kolkata Knight Riders

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have announced the signing of England’s batsman Jason Roy for IPL 2023.  The 32-year-old had previously played for the team in the 2017 and 2018 seasons. The Knight Riders have acquired him for INR 2.8 crore, which is above his base price of INR 1.5 crore. KKR have lost two of their star players. Shreyas Iyer, who was meant to lead the team, has been sidelined from the tournament due to a lower back injury.
